Job summary

Razorpay is seeking a Law Enforcement & Vigilance professional to strengthen engagement with national and state authorities, support investigations, and manage sensitive escalations. You will work with Legal, Compliance, Risk, and other functions to ensure regulatory alignment and proactive risk management.

The role requires 4–6 years in law enforcement or financial crime with strong IPC knowledge. Travel across India is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4–6 years of experience in law enforcement or financial crime investigations.
• Strong understanding of Indian laws and IPC.
• Experience with PA/PG industry regulations is preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for diverse stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel within India as needed.

Responsibilities

The Role:

We are looking for a Law Enforcement & Vigilance professional who will be responsible for managing and strengthening Razorpay’s engagement with national and state-level law enforcement and government agencies. The role will support investigations, manage sensitive escalations, identify potential risks and threats, and work closely with Legal, Compliance, Risk and other cross-functional teams.

Roles and responsibilities:

• Support to build liaison between Razorpay and National & State Law Enforcement, Agencies, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
• Provide the Law Enforcement ecosystem nationwide desired support for investigations, demonstrating maturity and discretion in managing challenging situations.
• Collaborate with internal and external counsels and cross-functional teams on escalations and engagement with law enforcement entities, including emergencies, directed towards Razorpay.
• Facilitate clear and timely responses to inquiries from law enforcement and government agencies, both written and verbal.
• Identify potential threats to Razorpay and its employees, proactively defusing any escalating situations.
• Engage in investigations under the supervision of the Sr. Vigilance Director to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
• Collaborate with legal, compliance, Risk and other departments to ensure a cohesive approach to risk management and vigilance.
• Plan, schedule, and promote law enforcement meetings, conferences, and training sessions to enhance cooperation and knowledge sharing.
• Represent Razorpay at conferences and meetings organized by law enforcement or government agencies, articulating the Razorpay’s policies and procedures for handling law enforcement requests.
• Maintain accurate case trackers, documentation, and MIS reports for management reporting.

Must haves:

• Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in law enforcement, financial crime investigation, with a strong understanding of applicable laws and regulations in India.
• Law Background is mandatory. Proficiency in the Indian Judicial System and the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
• Strong understanding of the Payment Aggregator (PA) / Payment Gateway (PG) industry, case management, and regulatory compliance is preferred.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate with diverse stakeholders across different levels of the organisation.
• Fluency in multiple languages, including English, Hindi, and regional languages.
• Prior field exposure or liaison experience with Law Enforcement Agencies.
• Willingness and ability to travel within India as needed.
