Job summary

Autoliv in India seeks an experienced Supply Planning professional to join our SCM team. You will oversee supplier scheduling, direct material procurement, inventory control, forecasting, and logistics coordination to ensure uninterrupted material availability for production.

The ideal candidate has 8–10 years in supply planning or related fields, with strong ERP/MRP knowledge and experience in manufacturing environments. PGDM in SCM is preferred.

Qualifications

  • 8-10 years of experience in supply planning, procurement, inventory management, logistics or SCM operations.
  • B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Operations with PGDM/SCM specialization preferred.
  • Strong ERP/MRP knowledge and forecasting/planning proficiency; excellent stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

  • Release monthly production schedules to suppliers based on plans.
  • Prepare and analyze 15-month forecasts and communicate requirements to suppliers.
  • Manage weekly and monthly firm schedules and forecast releases.
  • Monitor supplier performance, capacity and supply commitments.
  • Ensure continuous material availability to support production requirements.
  • Review and manage daily shortages for production and spare parts.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Supply Planning professional to join our Supply Chain Management team. The role is responsible for supplier scheduling, direct material procurement, inventory management, forecasting, logistics coordination, and ensuring uninterrupted material availability to support production requirements.

The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in supply planning, supplier management, procurement, inventory optimization, and manufacturing supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities
Supply Planning & Supplier Management
  • Release monthly production schedules to suppliers based on sales and production plans.
  • Prepare and analyze 15-month forecasts and communicate requirements to suppliers.
  • Manage weekly and monthly firm schedules and forecast releases.
  • Monitor supplier performance, capacity, and supply commitments.
  • Ensure continuous material availability to support production requirements.
  • Review and manage daily shortages for production and spare parts requirements.
Procurement & Inventory Management
  • Manage direct material procurement from domestic suppliers.
  • Control inventory levels in line with inventory turnover targets.
  • Update MRP data and ensure implementation of the latest purchase orders and part numbers.
  • Monitor planned versus actual supplier deliveries and drive corrective actions where required.
  • Ensure timely closure of Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs).
  • Arrange and ensure availability of IMCs and chemicals required for operations.
Logistics & Supply Chain Operations
  • Manage freight budgets, accruals, service bill submissions, and freight optimization initiatives.
  • Coordinate Goods-in-Transit (GIT) declarations.
  • Support implementation and sustainability of key logistics systems and standards:
    • AS051 - Supplier Performance Assessment
    • AS244 - Transport Label Implementation
    • AS246 - Logistics Integration System (LIS)
    • AS247 - Long-Term Supplier Forecasting
    • Web EDI Implementation
Process Excellence & Compliance
  • Participate in supplier audits for new project assessments and development activities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, training programs, and cross-functional projects.
  • Participate in quarterly and annual physical inventory exercises.
  • Prepare and maintain procurement MIS reports, including:
    • OTP Updates
    • Material Downtime Reports
    • Freight Performance Reports
    • Supply Chain KPIs
  • Maintain 5S standards within the assigned area.
Cross-Functional Contributions
  • Act as the SCM representative for plant-level initiatives and projects.
  • Support VEVA and packaging cost optimization projects.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, logistics, and procurement teams to drive operational excellence.

Qualifications
Education
