Job summary

Givaudan seeks an Assistant Manager for Repair and Maintenance in Pune to lead the site’s maintenance and reliability strategy, ensuring safe, uninterrupted operations while driving capital expansion and cost optimization. You will report to the Site Engineering Manager, T&W, and collaborate across functions.

You’ll drive reliability, food safety, asset management and maintenance governance, with SAP PM and CMMS proficiency, and lead a team of engineers and technicians to achieve KPIs and SLAs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (B.Tech/B.E.) in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation or related field.
• 8+ years in Maintenance, Reliability or Engineering in manufacturing.
• At least 2 years leading a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead site maintenance and reliability strategy to ensure safe, uninterrupted operations.
• Drive asset reliability, availability (MTBF) and maintenance effectiveness via preventive, predictive, CBM and RCA.
• Foster safety culture; ensure GMP, food safety, hygienic design, PTW, LOTO and contractor safety compliance.
• Lead audits and ensure tools, equipment and contractor activities meet safety standards.
• Manage budgets, spare parts strategy, inventory, CAPEX and asset lifecycle.

Assistant Manager (Repair and Maintenance) - Your future position?

As the Assistant Manager - Repair and Maintenance , In this role, you will lead the site's maintenance and reliability strategy, ensuring safe and uninterrupted operations while fostering a culture of operational excellence. You will drive reliability, food safety, cost optimization, and capital expansion initiatives, collaborating across functions to enhance performance and support long-term business objectives.

You will report to the Site Engineering Manager, T&W and will be based in Ranjangaon, Pune.

• Safety, Quality, Food Safety & GMP
• Champion a zero-harm safety culture and ensure compliance with GMP, food safety, hygienic design, PTW, LOTO, contractor safety, and statutory requirements.
• Support internal and external audits while ensuring tools, equipment, and contractor activities meet safety and compliance standards.
• Maintenance & Reliability Excellence
• Drive asset reliability, availability, MTBF and maintenance effectiveness through preventive, predictive, condition-based, and reliability-centered maintenance practices.
• Lead root cause analysis, problem-solving initiatives, and continuous improvement programs focused on performance, energy efficiency, and cost optimization.
• Hygienic Zoning & HAC Compliance
• Provide technical leadership in Hygienic Zoning and Hazardous Area Classification (HAC) to ensure equipment and facilities comply with food safety and explosion-protection requirements.
• Support the design, maintenance, auditing, and continuous improvement of hygienic and hazardous-area standards across the site.
• Maintenance Systems, Asset & Financial Management
• Drive excellence in SAP PM/Fiori and asset management systems, ensuring accurate equipment data, PM plans, task lists, KPIs, and maintenance governance.
• Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts strategies, inventory optimization, CAPEX planning, and asset lifecycle management.
• Projects, Capacity Expansion & People Leadership
• Support infrastructure upgrades, brownfield projects, and capacity expansion initiatives from design through commissioning.
• Lead team capability development, succession planning, contractor management, and performance governance through clear KPIs, SLAs, and scorecards.

Your Professional Profile Includes

• Bachelor's of Technology (B. Tech) in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or a related Engineering field.
• 8+ years of experience in Maintenance, Reliability, or Engineering roles within a manufacturing environment.
• At least 2 years of experience leading a team of subordinates.
• Experience in Food, FMCG, Specialty Chemicals, Pharmaceutical, or other GMP-regulated manufacturing environments is preferred.
• Strong expertise in Reliability Engineering, TPM, Preventive & Predictive Maintenance, Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM), and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
• Proficiency in SAP PM (or equivalent CMMS), maintenance planning, asset management, and spare parts optimization.
• Sound knowledge of GMP, Food Safety, Hygienic Design, Hygienic Zoning, and Hazardous Area Classification (HAC).
• Proven ability to drive safety, operational excellence, continuous improvement, and cost optimization initiatives.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and project management skills, with experience leading teams and contractors.
• Fluency in English and local languages such as Marathi (good-to-have).
