Mandatory Requirements:
- 5-10 years of experience in automotive regulatory research, compliance, or standardization
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering (Automotive/Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics or related)
- Strong understanding of India and global automotive regulatory landscape, including AIS, CMVR, BIS, ICAT, ARAI, and ECE standards
- Experience with AIS (ADAS), BS6/CAFE, Waste Management, RoHS, and POPs
- Ability to monitor and interpret Indian automotive safety, environmental, and EPR regulations, and translate regulatory intent into engineering/business implications
- Experience responding to internal (India and overseas, including Japan) regulatory queries accurately and on time
- Strong written and verbal English communication; Hindi and English at business level (speaking, reading, writing)
- Ability to prepare and maintain regulatory dossiers, compliance matrices, test reports, and technical files
- Ability to manage multiple regulatory topics and timelines simultaneously
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Preferred Requirements:
- Master's degree or specialization in Automotive Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Public Policy, or Regulatory Affairs
- Exposure to policy interpretation, industry engagement, electrification, sustainability, and connected vehicles
- Ability to assess India vs. global harmonization; compare AIS/BIS vs. UNECE/global standards
- Engagement with SIAM, ACMA, ICAT, ARAI, and participation in regulatory discussions
- Experience working with cross-border teams, including Japan
- Experience with databases, document management systems, or process improvement tools
- Experience leading regulatory or standardization initiatives
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor, interpret, and implement compliance with automotive regulations (AIS, CMVR, BIS, ICAT, ARAI, ECE, standards).
- Coordinate product certification and homologation for powertrain, safety, hybrid/EV, and electronic components.
- Manage documentation and interface with testing/certification agencies (ARAI, ICAT, BIS, etc.).
- Prepare and maintain regulatory dossiers, compliance matrices, test reports, and technical files.
- Serve as liaison between engineering teams, certification bodies, and regulatory authorities.
- Provide training and updates to internal teams on changes in compliance standards and regulatory risks.
- Track global and domestic regulatory developments (emissions, safety, cybersecurity, RoHS, REACH, EV mandates).
- Advise product teams on regulatory implications during early design and validation phases.
- Participate in working groups and policy consultations (SIAM, ACMA, BIS committees, MoRTH consultations).
- Represent the company's interests in shaping future standards for mobility, electrification, and ADAS technologies.
