Job summary

Metso seeks a Quality Assistant Manager to join the CNS Global Quality Development team in Alwar, India. You will shape QA practices for Rubber and Polymet products, deploying harmonised standards across the CNS supply chain and driving continuous improvement.

You will report to the Head of Quality Assurance, Rubber and Polymet. This role involves about 10% international travel and alignment with global teams.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Rubber or Chemical industry with QA knowledge.
  • Diploma or B.Tech in Materials or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Knowledge of quality tools such as 8D, MSA, SPC, SIPOC, APQP, PPAP, FMEA.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory.
  • Occasional international travel around 10%.
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949 or other automotive standards is a plus.
  • ISO 9001 auditor certification or Six Sigma qualification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement quality standards, procedures and QA documentation.
  • Lead harmonized quality plans for new and existing products across plants.
  • Lead or contribute to problem-solving meetings related to quality issues.
  • Develop and implement new processes, automation, digitalization and data tools.
  • Run improvement projects focusing on quality, cost, productivity and process capability.
  • Collaborate with management to set performance expectations for critical processes.
  • Train local and global teams on quality specs, procedures and tools.
  • Perform global quality audits and conduct root-cause analyses.

Introduction

We are seeking a Quality Assistant Manager to join our Consumables (CNS) Global Quality Development team. In this role, you will shape and strengthen our quality assurance and quality control practices for Rubber and Polymet products developing and deploying harmonised processes, systems and standards across the CNS supply chain, and driving continuous improvement that directly lifts our product and service quality. You will report to the Head of Quality Assurance, Rubber and Polymet.

This role is based in Alwar, Rajasthan, India, and includes approximately 10% international travel.

Team you belong to

You will be part of CNS Quality Development team which plays a critical role in developing and implement the quality assurance process across the business.

We work closely with Mill Lining and Screening Business Lines and Rubber and Polymet Supply Chain to develop and implement internal quality standards and processes, and to drive continuous improvement initiatives across the business, ensuring our processes are robust and aligned with corporate quality objectives. Our team culture is grounded in innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement. The members in our team are located in Sorocaba (Brazil) and Alwar (India).

What you’ll do
  • Develop and implement quality standards, procedures, and related quality assurance documentation.
  • Develop and implement harmonized quality plans for both new and existing products across plants
  • Lead and/or contribute to pertinent problem-solving meetings related to internal and external issues.
  • Develop and implement new process, automation, digitalization, data collection, system and tools
  • Conduct improvement projects and support initiatives related to quality, cost reduction, productivity and process capability.
  • Collaborate with management to establish performance expectations for critical manufacturing processes and monitor their performance.
  • Support and training the local team members and global colleagues on quality specifications, global procedures and Quality Tools.
  • Perform global quality audits and manage the root cause analysis of the respective outcomes and provides support of Quality or other functions as needed.
What youll bring
  • Experience in Rubber / Chemical industry with knowledge on quality assurance and their materials and manufacturing standards and processes.
  • Diploma / B.Tech in Materials or Mechanical Engineering degree is desirable.
  • Knowledge and experience of Quality Tools such as 8D, MSA, SPC, SIPOC, APQP, PPAP, FMEA.
  • EnglishFluencyis mandatory.
  • Availability for occasional international travel (around 10% of working time).
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949 or other automotive standards (nice to have).
  • ISO 9001 auditor certification and/or a Six Sigma qualification (nice to have).
