Job summary

Indorama Ventures is looking for a Process Engineer to join our Ankleshwar site and drive technical excellence across the plant. You will interface with vendors, maintain P&IDs and safety documentation while supporting NPIs and technology transfer.

The ideal candidate has 5–8 years in EPCM, petrochemical or refinery environments, a Chemical Engineering degree, and hands-on DCS, AutoCAD, Six Sigma and SEEQ experience to deliver safe, reliable operations and continuous improvements.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate strong Safety leadership and good working knowledge on safe work practices, hazards associated with chemistry and process safety management (PSM)
  • Effective communication, human relations and organizational skills to work effectively with team/workgroup or those outside the formal line of authority to accomplish organizational goals.
  • Possesses strong technical background & good analytical skills to support decision making.
  • Possesses strong knowledge/ certification of various process excellence tools like Six Sigma, SEEQ, 5S, WCM etc.
  • Must be having hands on experience on the DCS operator station/ engineering station.
  • Good competency level in Auto Cad, DWSIM, ASPEN, API Standards
  • Possesses a curious open mind to encourage Innovation.
  • Good Communication Skills

Responsibilities

  • Interface technical vendors and maintain P&IDs, equipment datasheets, PRV sizing, PHA, Hazop in the documentation management system.
  • Evaluate new equipment designs and verify engineering calculations.
  • Participate in PSM, PHA, Pre-startup safety review, Management of change and other technical studies for site operations.
  • Oversee NPI and technology transfer to the site.
  • Lead new laboratory trials at site.
  • Manage DCS recipes and troubleshooting.
  • Advise line manager on process technology and plant operations.
  • Promote MOC culture for processes, facilities and personnel changes.
  • Contribute to safety improvement plans and safety engagement.
  • Lead investigations on quality issues and implement corrective/preventive actions.
  • Run process simulations, check product standards, use Six Sigma/Lean.
  • Track KPIs (PI, SEEQ) and build dashboards for continuous improvement.
  • Identify process improvements and debottleneck day-to-day DCS data.

What we’re looking for:

Serve as the Process Engineer for the site.

Specific Technical responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for interfacing technical vendors and the upkeep of P&IDs, technical documentation (equipment datasheet, PRV sizing, PHA, Hazop studies) in the documentation management system.
  • Responsible for evaluating new equipment designs and verifying design engineering calculations.
  • Participate in PSM, PHA, Pre-startup Safety review, Management of change and other technical studies for site operations.
  • Responsible for NPI (New product introduction) and technology transfer to the site.
  • Responsible for new laboratory trials at site.
  • Responsible for DCS recipe and troubleshooting.
  • Serves as an advisor to the line manager (Process Technology) on technical matters related to plant operations and chemistry.
  • Serves as an advocate for use of Management of change for all processes, facility and personnel changes.
  • Serves as a member for all safety improvement plans/ideas to raise safety engagement.
  • Leads investigation on quality related issues and recommends permanent corrective/preventive measures to prevent reoccurrences.
  • Run process simulations, check product standards, and use tools like Six Sigma or Lean.
  • Track operational statistics (PI, SEEQ) and build performance dashboards to guide continuous improvements Evaluating complex metrics to find system bottlenecks.
  • Serves as a dedicated person for the identification of process improvement, Batch cycle time improvement, process debottlenecks for the continual improvement by close monitoring of day-to-day DCS data.
EHS responsibilities:
  • To follow site EHS procedure and best practices
  • Read and understand relevant procedures and perform the work safely
  • Support site EHS in safety campaign, Safety observations to prevent injuries
  • Follow the site PSM procedure and implement the PSM culture
Required Knowledge/Skills:
