Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering required.
• 3+ years of experience in gas station construction operations and maintenance preferred.
• Experience in gas distribution, oil and energy, or utilities sectors is advantageous.

• Assist in day‑to‑day operations of PNG pipelines ensuring reliable service delivery.

Purpose/Objective

• To provide technical expertise and hands‑on support in the operations and maintenance of PNG pipelines, ensuring the reliable and efficient delivery of services.
• The Operations and Maintenance Engineer plays a critical role in executing maintenance activities, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, all while contributing to the continuous improvement of operational processes and the overall performance of the system.

Key Responsibilities of Role

• - PNG O&M Engineer - O3 Operational Support: - Assist in the day‑to‑day operations of PNG pipelines, ensuring the efficient and reliable delivery of services.
• - Monitor the performance of equipment and systems, conducting routine inspections to identify and address any operational issues.
• - Support the implementation of operational strategies and procedures developed by the O&M Lead to optimize system performance and reliability.
• - Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and environmental standards during operations, reporting any deviations to the O&M Lead.
• - Provide technical support during the integration of new systems or equipment into existing PNG infrastructure.
• Maintenance Execution: - Execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities on PNG pipelines equipment, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
• - Utilize diagnostic tools and techniques to monitor the condition of pipelines and infrastructure, identifying maintenance needs.
• - Coordinate with contractors and service providers to carry out maintenance tasks, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
• - Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of all maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs, ensuring these are readily available for review.
• - Implement best practices in maintenance management, contributing to continuous improvements in efficiency and effectiveness.
• Technical Problem Solving: - Troubleshoot technical issues that arise during operations or maintenance activities, providing timely and effective solutions.
• - Analyze system data and performance metrics to identify potential areas for improvement and to prevent future operational disruptions.
• - Collaborate with the O&M Lead to develop and implement engineering solutions that enhance the reliability and efficiency of PNG.
• - Participate in technical meetings and reviews, offering insights and recommendations to optimize project outcomes.
• Safety and Compliance: - Ensure all maintenance and operational activities comply with safety regulations and industry standards, minimizing the risk of accidents or incidents.
• - Participate in safety audits and inspections, identifying potential hazards and implementing measures to mitigate risks.
• - Assist in the development of safety protocols and procedures, ensuring they are adhered to by all team members and contractors.
• - Prepare safety documentation, such as risk assessments and method statements, to support safe operations and maintenance practices.
• Documentation and Reporting: - Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, including maintenance logs, inspection reports, and equipment manuals.
• - Provide regular updates to the O&M Lead on the status of ongoing maintenance activities and any issues encountered.
• - Assist in the preparation of operational and maintenance reports for senior management, highlighting key findings and areas for improvement.
• - Ensure that all documentation is organized, accessible, and complies with internal and external audit requirements.
• Team Collaboration and Communication: - Work closely with other engineers, technicians, and team members to ensure smooth execution of maintenance and operational activities.
• - Communicate clearly and effectively with contractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure that project objectives and timelines are met.
• - Participate in team meetings, providing updates on engineering activities and contributing to discussions on improving operational efficiency.
• - Liaise with other departments as needed to ensure integrated and effective operations of PNG pipelines.
• Continuous Improvement and Learning: - Stay informed about the latest developments in engineering practices, technologies, and industry standards relevant to PNG.
