Job summary

WNS, part of Capgemini, seeks a professional with strong accounting and reconciliation governance experience to oversee bank reconciliations and ensure policy compliance. The role requires 5+ years in accounting/auditing or related fields, with preferred CPA/CFA certifications.

The candidate will partner with control teams to identify deficiencies, drive remediation, and monitor progress across multiple business lines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years' experience OR Associate's with 7+ years in accounting, auditing, operations or financial institutions.
• Advanced degree or professional certification (CPA, CFA)

Responsibilities

• Perform independent reviews of bank reconciliations to assess compliance with policy and control requirements.
• Evaluate the quality, completeness, and timeliness of reconciliations, including supporting documentation and aging of items.
• Identify policy exceptions, control deficiencies, and reconciliation practices not aligned with requirements.
• Partner with reconciliation preparers, reviewers, and management to communicate findings and drive resolution.
• Provide challenge and oversight regarding aged items, unsupported balances, and differences.
• Develop, monitor, and report on remediation plans to ensure policy compliance and stronger controls.
• Track outstanding exceptions and escalation when needed.

Reconciliation Governance and Oversight (Controllership)

• Perform independent reviews of bank reconciliations to assess compliance with the Bank's Reconciliation Policy, accounting standards, and control requirements.
• Evaluate the quality, completeness, and timeliness of reconciliations, including supporting documentation, aging of reconciling items, and appropriateness of explanations and resolutions.
• Identify policy exceptions, control deficiencies, and reconciliation practices that do not align with established requirements.
• Partner with reconciliation preparers, reviewers, and business line management to communicate findings, validate root causes, and drive timely resolution of identified issues.
• Provide challenge and oversight regarding aged items, unsupported balances, unresolved differences, and other reconciliation-related risks.
