Overview

Job Title: Assistant Manager – Material Requirement Planning

Location: Nashik Plant

Department: Supply Chain – Planning & Procurement

Reporting To: Manager – Supply Chain Planning

Role Purpose

The MRP Planner drives the seamless flow of raw and packaging materials from demand signal to supplier payment. This role converts production plans into material requirements, manages procurement execution, and ensures availability while controlling cost and inventory health. It is pivotal in balancing supplier performance, working capital, and production continuity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Material Requirement Planning (MRP)
    • Translate the monthly/weekly production plan into SKU-wise raw & packaging material requirements using ERP/MRP systems.
    • Maintain accurate planning parameters (lead times, MOQ, safety stock, reorder points) and review them periodically.
  • Procurement Execution – Purchase to Pay
    • Create and release Purchase Requisitions/Orders in line with approved MRP.
    • Coordinate with suppliers for order confirmations, dispatch schedules, and shipment tracking.
    • Partner with Finance to ensure accurate GRN (Goods Receipt Note), invoice matching, and timely supplier payments.
    • Drive compliance to P2P process controls, ensuring audit readiness and zero leakage.
  • Inventory & Supply Assurance
    • Monitor raw and packaging material inventories against safety norms to prevent stockouts or excess.
    • Lead daily/weekly reviews on open POs, inbound shipments, and consumption trends.
    • Identify slow-moving/obsolete materials; trigger rework, liquidation, or write-off actions as per policy.
  • Supplier & Stakeholder Collaboration
    • Build strong relationships with key suppliers for improved service levels and cost optimization.
    • Collaborate closely with PPC, Production, Quality, and Warehouse teams to mitigate risks (quality holds, delays, capacity issues).
    • Escalate and resolve supply disruptions with cross-functional alignment.
  • Data, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
    • Publish dashboards on material availability, purchase order adherence, payment status, and key MRP KPIs.
    • Drive root-cause analysis for recurring misses and implement systemic improvements in MRP accuracy.
    • Support digitization projects to enhance P2P cycle efficiency and data visibility.
Key Competencies & Attributes
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 3–6 years of experience in material planning/procurement in a manufacturing/FMCG/food industry.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel, ERP/MRP systems, and MIS tools.
  • Knowledge of end-to-end procurement, inventory control, and P2P compliance.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams and suppliers under pressure.
  • Discipline, accuracy, and a problem-solving orientation.
