Job summary

Niyo Solutions Inc. is seeking an experienced in-house counsel to draft, review, and negotiate a variety of agreements, while conducting legal research on regulatory issues. The role involves maintaining corporate document repositories and coordinating IP registrations with external consultants.

The candidate will handle IP management and provide opinions on consumer cases, with a focus on BFSI and fintech compliance. PQE of 5+ years is preferred.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer with a five-years integrated law degree from a reputed university.
• Post-qualification experience (PQE) of 5+ years in-house or in a law firm.
• Experience with IP management, regulatory issues, and consumer/regulatory litigation is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate master services, recruitment, and referral agreements.
• Conduct legal research on regulatory issues and assess new products against the legal framework.
• Maintain a repository of all company documents and coordinate with external consultants for IP registrations and opinions.
• Handle IP management including trademarks, patents, and related litigation.
• Provide opinions on consumer forums, civil litigation, and dispute resolution; ensure BFSI/fintech compliance.

Location : Whitefield, Bangalore (working from office 5 days a week)

Key Accountabilities and Decision Ownership :

• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of agreements including master services agreement, recruitment services agreements, referral agreements.
• Undertaking legal research on legal and regulatory issues.
• Assist in evaluating new products and services viz-a-viz the extant legal and regulatory framework.
• Executing and maintaining a repository of all the documents executed by the company.
• Coordinate with external consultants for registration of intellectual property rights, secretarial matters and procuring legal opinions.
• Handle IP Management – experience in trademark, patent applications and associated litigation
• Experience in Compliance – industry related compliance such as BFSI, fintech.
• Handle legal opinion on consumer forum cases, civil litigation and dispute resolution .

Core Competencies, Knowledge, and Experience :

• Qualified lawyer with a five-years integrated law degree from a reputed university
• Post qualification experience ranging from 5 years either working as an in-house counsel or in a law firm
• National Law School and an LLM would be an additional advantage.
• Holds strong drafting, reviewing and negotiation skills.
• Exhibits complete ownership over all assigned tasks and brings them to logical conclusion.
• Effective at coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
