Assistant Manager – Flight Test & Operations Safety
The Assistant Manager – Flight Test& Flight Operations Safety will lead operational risk management on theflight line, ground test rigs (iron-bird/tethered), and during experimentalflight test campaigns.
Qualifications & Skills
- MandatoryQualifications: B.E./B.Tech in Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification/experience in Military aviation.Certification in Aviation Incident Investigation is highly desirable.
- MandatoryExperience: 5+years in airfield operations, experimental aircraft flight testing, orflight line ground operations safety.
- PreferredExperience: Experience in experimental flight test safety management, drone/eVTOL testbed oversight, or military flight line operations.
- PrimarySkills: Flight-line hazard evaluation, pre-flight safety risk assessments, groundtest rig safety (iron-bird/tethered setups), airfield crash rescuecoordination, emergency preparedness.
- SecondarySkills: Operational Risk Management (ORM), human factors evaluation, telemetrymonitoring procedures, safety briefing execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadpre-flight safety risk assessments and hazard evaluations for ground rigruns, tethered tests, and experimental flight sorties.
- Establishflight-line standard operating procedures (SOPs), clearance zones, andsafe perimeters during active engine or propulsion runs.
- Coordinateflight-line emergency response teams, Crash Fire Rescue (CFR) protocols,and airfield emergency response strategies.
- Conductflight safety briefings for ground crews, pilots/operators, and testengineers prior to test execution.
- Investigateflight operations near-misses or incidents and implement corrective actionreports to enhance operational safety.
