Role Overview
We are seeking an Assistant Manager to join our Financial Modelling team with a strong focus on renewable energy technologies as well as other infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have a passion for impact‑driven investments, a strong background in financial modelling, and experience working on infrastructure projects at various life cycles.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery
- Manage a portfolio of financial modelling engagements within Sub‑Sahara region, from proposals through to scoping, development, review and delivery.
- Be the main day‑to‑day contact with clients, forming long‑standing relationships that help drive repeat business.
- Financial management of projects, including forecasting, billing and debt collection, and reporting on progress to the Director/Partner.
- Ensure the quality of deliverables to meet internal standards and client requirements, and adhere to best‑practice modelling at all times.
- Lead, coach and review the work of junior modellers.
- Conduct financial model audits and provide training to enhance the modelling skills of our team and clients.
- Help manage modelling support in the context of transaction advisory work and/or valuation work, where required.
- Deliver modelling training courses from time to time.
People and Product Development
- Help develop both our models and our team technically, ensuring they are informed by relevant sector dynamics and commercial understanding.
- Ensure our models are visually effective and transparent to use.
- Find solutions for clients to ensure we meet their needs, using this insight to inform our business development strategy.
- Build broader market relationships and knowledge to keep our models up‑to‑date with latest market developments; help foster a culture of learning and development across the team.
- Contribute to the dissemination of financial modelling knowledge within the firm and the broader community.
- Be in charge of growing the Numeris Digital Store.
Business Development and Broader Team Engagement
- Active member of the wider team, participating in general business development and marketing activities and coordinating with other service lines across Numeris.
- Participate in thought leadership, including public webinars and other marketing efforts.
- Develop client relationships to drive opportunities across other service lines.
- Build your personal network across the sector.
Candidate Profile
- Highly analytical, organized, and logical professional with attention to detail.
- Keen interest in renewable energy and infrastructure projects.
- At least 5 years of experience in financial modelling, preferably from within Big 4 accounting firms or boutique financial modelling outfits, with exposure to renewable energy or broader infrastructure projects considered beneficial.
- Excellent Excel and financial modelling skills; advanced user of Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Additional language skills desirable (particularly French or other languages).
- Strong academic background in accounting, finance, or economics.
- Preference for a qualified accountant and/or AFM, CFM or CFA charterholder/candidate and/or MBA.
- Enthusiasm and commitment to working in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment where things are not yet fully structured.
Terms of Appointment
- Full‑time contractual basis.
- Start date as soon as possible.
- Principal location during probationary period will be the candidate's home country; relocation to Mauritius may be offered to the right candidate based on performance.
