Job summary

  • Demonstrated experience in managing and supervising a team of engineering professionals.
  • Proven track record of successfully overseeing maintenance activities and ensuring building systems operate efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office suite and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the engineering department, including preventative maintenance, repair work, and general building operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, building codes, and industry best practices.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures to improve operational efficiency and maximize the lifespan of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Ensure the timely completion of work orders, maintenance projects, and capital improvements.
  • Coordinate and supervise the activities of external contractors and vendors.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and warranties.
  • Participate in the development and management of the annual budget for the engineering department.
  • Collaborate with the Property Manager to address tenant requests, resolve maintenance issues, and enhance tenant satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular inspections of mechanical systems, equipment, and building facilities to identify potential issues and develop action plans for improvement.
  • Foster a culture of safety, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and promoting a safe working environment for all staff and tenants.

Job Summary:

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Manager, Engineering to join our dynamic team.
