Job summary

Guidehouse India in Chennai seeks a seasoned Data Analyst to gather data, build dashboards, and provide insights across departments. You will work with Power BI, Excel, Python, and SQL to uncover trends and inform decisions, collaborating with engineering and product teams.

With 7+ years' experience, you will manage client relationships, deliver timely reports, and drive process improvements in a fast-paced environment. This role is based in Chennai with travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Information Management/Statistics or equivalent.
• 7+ years of data analytics or data science experience.
• Strong data analysis skills and ability to handle clients independently.
• Adept at reporting and presenting findings.
• Advanced data management and visualization knowledge.
• Proficient with MS Office (Excel), Power BI, and VBA macros.
• Fluent in Python and SQL for analytics.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Gather data from primary and secondary sources and maintain databases.
• Detect trends and patterns in complex datasets.
• Cleanse data and validate reports to fix coding issues.
• Coordinate with management to align priorities.
• Track metrics, SLAs, and drive improvements.
• Use statistics to produce actionable insights.
• Collaborate with leadership to rank business needs.
• Develop data dashboards, charts, and visual aids for decisions.
• Create daily/weekly/monthly reports in Excel/Power BI; develop tools.
• Partner with engineering and product teams on requirements.
• Assist operations to consolidate, track, and report deliverables.
• Manage data analysts and identify optimization opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal/external clients to meet analytics needs.

What You Will Do

• Gather data from primary and secondary sources, ensuring the upkeep of databases and data systems.
• Detect, examine, and decode trends or patterns within intricate datasets.
• Cleanse data and scrutinize computer-generated reports and outputs to identify and rectify coding errors.
• Coordinate with management to align business and informational priorities.
• Responsible for tracking process metrics, SLAs and driving improvement
• Employ statistical techniques to scrutinize data and produce actionable business insights.
• Collaborate with the management team to determine and rank the needs of different business units.
• Develop data dashboards, charts, and visual aids to support decision-making across departments.
• Creation of Daily/Weekly Monthly reports in adherence to process timelines on MS excel/Power BI. Create and develop and modification of excel based tools /Power BI.
• Partner with engineering and product development teams to understand business requirements.
• Assist Operations team to consolidate, track and report the status of Key deliverables
• Manage the tasks of data analysts and identify optimization opportunities.
• Collaborate directly with internal and external clients to meet analytics demands.

What You Will Need

• Must have a bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Management, Statistics, or comparable discipline
• Minimum 7 years of experience in data analytics or data science roles.
• Excellent Data Analysis skills & Independent client handling & execution ability
• Adept at report writing and presenting findings.
• Advanced understanding of data management and visualization practices.
• Prior experience working with MS Office (advanced excel), Power BI and VBA Macros
• Fluency in Python and SQL for data analytics.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving techniques and communication skills.

• Power Platform tools (PowerApps, Power Automate) for process automation
• Flexible to work in mid shift timings and extended business hours
