Job summary

Surbana Jurong is seeking a Site Construction Supervisor in India to oversee day-to-day activities at project sites, ensuring execution per drawings, specs and method statements. You will coordinate with contractors, QA/QC staff, surveyors and site teams to maintain progress and quality across water infrastructure projects.

The role requires vigilance in safety, documentation, material usage, testing and handover of completed works, while reporting progress to the senior team and managing site

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day construction activities at project sites and ensure execution as per approved drawings, specifications and method statements.
• Monitor construction of transmission and distribution pipelines, WTPs, pumping stations, reservoirs, OHSRs/ESRs, valve chambers and other associated structures.
• Check line, level, alignment, excavation, bedding, laying, jointing, testing and commissioning of water supply pipelines.
• Inspect civil works including excavation, PCC, RCC, reinforcement, shuttering, masonry, plastering, waterproofing and finishing works.
• Review and verify contractor's work against approved drawings, technical specifications and quality requirements.
• Coordinate with contractors, QA/QC engineers, surveyors and other site staff to resolve construction issues.
• Monitor material usage and ensure only approved materials are used at site.
• Witness field tests and inspections for construction materials and completed works.
• Identify defects, deviations and non-conformities and coordinate corrective actions.
• Maintain daily site records, inspection reports, photographs, measurements and progress documentation.
• Monitor contractor manpower, equipment and material deployment against the approved work programme.
• Assist in measurement verification and preparation/review of contractor bills.
• Monitor physical progress and highlight delays, site constraints and potential risks to the senior project team.
• Ensure compliance with project HSE requirements and safe working practices.
• Participate in site meetings, progress reviews and coordination meetings with contractors and client representatives.
• Assist in testing, commissioning, snagging, defect rectification and handover of completed works.
