Qualifications

Responsibilities

Role Summary

We are looking for a Senior Accountant who can take ownership of project-wise financial management. The primary mandate is to solve two critical business challenges: (1) establishing accurate, real-time project P&L tracking across all active projects, and (2) building a robust forecasted cash flow model linked to billing milestones and purchase/payment milestones. You will be the single point of accountability for financial reporting, compliance, and cash flow visibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end project-wise Profit & Loss (P&L) tracking for all active EPC projects, ensuring real-time visibility of revenue recognition, cost absorption, and margin erosion at each project stage.
• Design and maintain a forecasted cash flow model driven by billing milestones (RA bills, progressive invoicing) and purchase/sub-contractor payment milestones, updated on a weekly/fortnightly cycle.
• Set up and manage project-wise cost centres in Zoho Books, mapping every expense line (material, labour, sub-contract, travel, overheads) to the correct project code.
• Reconcile billing milestones against contract terms, WBS schedules, and actual progress to flag revenue leakage or unbilled work-in-progress early.
• Prepare and present monthly MIS reports to management including project-wise P&L summary, cash flow forecast vs. actuals variance, debtor/creditor ageing, and working capital position.
• Manage GST compliance (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, reconciliation with GSTR-2A/2B), TDS returns, advance tax computations, and coordinate with the statutory auditor for annual filings.
• Oversee travel expense management and reimbursement workflows in Zoho Expense, ensuring policy compliance and timely settlement for field teams operating across pan-India sites.
• Monitor vendor advances, retention amounts, and sub-contractor running accounts; ensure timely deductions, recoveries, and ledger accuracy.
• Lead the annual budgeting exercise and quarterly re-forecasting for each project and at the company level.
• Supervise, mentor, and review the work of the Junior Accountant; build SOPs and checklists for recurring accounting tasks.
• Liaise with bankers for BG/LC management, project-linked credit facilities, Forex payments and fund-flow planning.
• Drive process improvements in the Zoho ecosystem (Books, Expense, Projects, Payroll, CRM integration) to reduce manual data entry and improve reporting speed.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• CA Inter / CMA Inter / M.Com with minimum 5–8 years of accounting experience, of which at least 3 years in an EPC, infrastructure, or project-based company.
• Demonstrated ability to build and manage project-wise P&L statements and milestone-linked cash flow forecasts.
• Strong working knowledge of Zoho Books, Zoho Expense, and related Zoho applications; ability to configure custom reports and automation workflows.
• Thorough understanding of Ind AS / Indian GAAP, GST (including RCM for GTA, works contract), TDS (194C, 194J, 194Q), and project-based revenue recognition (percentage of completion method).
• CS Yearly compliance filling and documentation for the company
• Proficiency in advanced Excel / Google Sheets for financial modelling, pivot-based analysis, and dashboard creation.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred / Good-to-Have

• Full CA / CMA qualification.
• Prior experience managing accounting for multi-site EPC operations across different Indian states.
• Familiarity with Zoho Analytics or BI tools for automated dashboard creation.
• Knowledge of project management concepts (WBS, earned value, milestone billing) relevant to EPC contracting.
