Job description

Role & responsibilities:

Inventory Control and Management

Oversee the daily operations of inventory management, including stock movement, monitoring, and reporting.

Ensure that inventory levels are maintained to meet production schedules and customer demand without overstocking.

Develop and implement inventory control procedures and systems to optimize the flow of goods.

Coordinate with procurement and supply chain teams to manage stock levels and reorder supplies when necessary.

Stock Ordering and Replenishment

Forecast future inventory needs based on sales trends, market demand, and production requirements.

Monitor inventory levels and reorder stock as necessary, ensuring optimal stock levels for production and sales.

Evaluate supplier performance and work with procurement to ensure timely and cost-effective replenishment.

Inventory Audits and Reconciliation

Perform regular inventory audits to ensure stock accuracy, identifying discrepancies and taking corrective action as needed.

Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure that all stock movements are properly documented.

Reconcile physical inventory counts with system records and investigate variances.

Reporting and Analysis

Prepare and present regular reports on inventory levels, stock turnover rates, and product performance to senior management.

Analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast demand, and recommend improvements.

Track key inventory metrics, such as stockouts, lead times, and stock aging, to improve overall inventory efficiency.

Team Leadership and Training

Supervise and manage inventory staff, providing guidance and support to ensure accurate and efficient inventory management.

Train team members on inventory processes, software, and safety procedures.

Evaluate the performance of the inventory team and implement improvement strategies.
