Vrb Consumer Products in India seeks an Assistant Manager Sauces & Emulsion (R&D) to lead development from concept to commercialization, driving formulation innovation and cost optimization.

The role requires mastery of FSSAI regulations, sensory benchmarking, and strong project management across QA, procurement, marketing, and operations.

Role Purpose :

The Assistant Manager Sauces & Emulsion (R&D) will lead the development, optimization, and commercialization of sauce products across categories. This role involves driving innovation, ensuring regulatory compliance, improving cost and quality, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including Quality, Procurement, Marketing, and Operations.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-end product development from concept to commercialization.


• Drive innovation by developing new formulations aligned with market trends, consumer insights, and brand strategy.


• Optimize existing products for taste, cost, shelf life, nutrition, and process efficiency.


• Ensure compliance with FSSAI and other applicable food safety and regulatory standards.


• Monitor global and local food trends, emerging ingredients, and new technologies relevant to sauces.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong expertise in sauce formulation, emulsions, stabilizers, preservatives, and flavor systems.


• Hands-on experience with industrial-scale food processing and thermal processing techniques.


• In-depth knowledge of FSSAI regulations, labeling norms, and food safety standards.


• Strong sensory evaluation and benchmarking skills.


• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.


• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.


• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

Educational Qualifications:

Masters degree in Food Technology / Food Science / Dairy Technology / Chemical Engineering or related field.

Experience

2-7 years of relevant experience in R&D/product development within the sauces, condiments, or FMCG food industry.

Proven experience in leading sauce development projects from concept to launch
