Lead high-value procurement initiatives to optimize spend, secure favorable commercial terms, and ensure zero operational downtime across manufacturing units.

Process Control & Governance: Oversee procurement governance, vendor risk mitigation, and e-procurement integration while strictly enforcing cGMP compliance, regulatory guidelines, and company policies.

Sustainable Growth & Supplier Leadership: Cultivate high-value, long-term global supplier partnerships, direct alternate vendor development strategies, and drive continuous cost-saving roadmaps to support business scaling.

Job Responsibilities
Procurement Strategy & Global Sourcing

Formulate and execute macro-level sourcing strategies for bulk intermediates, solvents, and specialty chemicals across domestic and international markets.

Oversee the complete strategic sourcing lifecycle, from high-value RFQs and complex multi-party commercial negotiations to purchase order execution and global supplier performance management.

Drive cross-category cost-optimization initiatives, alternate sourcing frameworks, and yield improvement practices to achieve annual cost-reduction targets.

Champion enterprise-wide adoption of digital procurement tools and continuous process automation to maximize efficiency and transparency.

Strategic Vendor Management & Development

Build and manage high-level executive relationships with critical global and domestic suppliers while aligning internal leadership expectations.

Direct global supplier qualification, technical audit frameworks, and quality risk evaluations in alignment with R&D, QA, and regulatory standards.

Establish strategic supplier alliances to guarantee supply security, mitigate geopolitical/market risks, and secure key allocations.

Contract Management & High-Stakes Negotiation

Lead major commercial negotiations for long-term supply agreements, pricing structures, extended credit terms, and strategic contracts.

Structure advanced pricing models tied to key global feedstock indices (e.g., crude oil, benzene, key building blocks) to hedge market volatility and secure optimal pricing.

Draft and enforce legal contracts containing comprehensive risk-mitigation clauses, performance SLAs, and continuity commitments.

Cross-Functional Leadership

Partner with R&D and Process Engineering teams to strategically source new molecules and key raw materials for NPI, scale-up, and commercial production.

Align strategic procurement goals with Production, Quality Assurance, Finance, and Supply Chain leadership to ensure flawless operational planning.

Logistics, Compliance & Risk Management

Lead high-volume hazardous material transportation strategies in coordination with logistics teams, optimizing routes for tankers, ISO tanks, and bulk containers.

Ensure absolute alignment with global GMP standards, chemical safety regulations, and internal corporate governance.

Monitor global macroeconomic conditions, supply disruptions, and chemical market cycles to proactively execute risk-mitigation strategies.

Experience Required

12-16+ years of progressive experience in strategic procurement and global sourcing within the Pharmaceutical, Fine Chemicals, or Specialty Chemicals industries.

Proven track record of managing large-scale annual chemical procurement spend, complex global market drivers, and commodity cycles.

Key Skills & Competencies

Deep category expertise in bulk raw materials, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), solvents, and hazardous chemical sourcing.

Master-level expertise in complex commercial negotiations, long-term contract structuring, and index-based pricing formulas.

Strong leadership capability to mentor teams, drive cross-functional alignment, and influence executive stakeholders.

Thorough understanding of global supply chain risk management, GMP compliance, and regulatory audit frameworks.

Exceptional analytical skills, strategic thinking, and financial acumen for spend analysis and cost modeling.
