Job summary

Keka Technologies Private Limited in Mumbai is seeking a seasoned Legal Counsel to draft, review, and manage commercial contracts and related documents.

The role also covers litigation oversight, real estate due diligence, and compliance advisory across projects, with emphasis on English and Marathi drafting. You will work independently and provide ownership of legal matters across commercial transactions.

Qualifications

• LLB/LLM from a recognized university and bar enrollment.
• Experience in real estate law and with developers.
• Strong litigation, documentation, and due-diligence skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English and Marathi.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and vet commercial contracts and legal documents.
• Prepare notices, LOIs, MOUs, lease agreements, sale agreements, and conveyance deeds.
• Handle non-litigation matters and commercial transactions.
• Monitor and manage ongoing litigation and coordinate with external counsel.
• Oversee arbitration and litigation across courts and authorities.
• Ensure compliance with court orders, filings, and updates.
• Conduct land due diligence for acquisitions, development, redevelopment, and JV projects.
• Review title deeds, approvals, and regulatory compliance for development projects.
• Assist in finalization of land acquisition and JV documentation.
• Provide compliance and legal advisory; conduct legal research.

Job description

• Drafting, reviewing, and vetting commercial contracts, agreements, and other legal documentation.
• Preparation of legal documents including legal notices, Letters of Intent (LOI), MOU, lease agreements, sale agreements, leave & license agreements, conveyance deeds, and related documentation.
• Drafting and reviewing legal documents for non-litigation matters and commercial transactions.
• Monitoring and managing ongoing litigation matters and coordinating with external counsel.
• Handling and tracking cases relating to arbitration and litigation across various forums including: City Civil Court, Sessions Court, High Court, Revenue Authorities
• Ensuring proper compliance with court orders, filings, and case updates.
• Conducting legal due diligence of land parcels for acquisition, development, redevelopment, and joint venture projects.
• Reviewing title documents, property records, approvals, and regulatory compliance for development projects.
• Assisting in finalization of documentation for land acquisition, redevelopment, and joint venture agreements.

Requirements

• LLB / LLM from a recognized university.
• Enrolment with the Bar Council of Maharashtra & Goa.
• Minimum 12+ years of experience in a law firm or legal practice.
• Prior experience in real estate law and working with real estate developers will be preferred.
• Strong expertise in litigation, documentation, and land due diligence.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of legal matters.
• Proficiency in drafting legal documents in English and Marathi.
