Job summary

WSP India is seeking a Civil Design Engineer to work on highways schemes, supporting design development with adherence to DMRB/MCDHW standards. You will collaborate with the UK project team, produce designs using AutoCAD and related tools, and manage multiple tasks concurrently to deliver compliant solutions.

The role emphasizes proactive design input, strong communication, and safe work practices within a hybrid Indian work environment.

Qualifications

• Proven working knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and MCDHW.
• Ability to support production of technical specifications and reports.

Responsibilities

• Work on a range of highways schemes and develop design solutions.
• Collaborate with the lead design engineer or work package manager.

• Contribute to all types of projects.

• You will be able to use the relevant design software such as Civil 3D, Open Roads, MX, PDS/Key Line and Sign, AutoCAD and ProjectWise.

• You will be quick to pick up new ideas and skills, and be able to think laterally to generate new solutions to problems.

• You will be working closely with the lead design engineer or work package manager to develop design solutions in accordance with the relevant standards.
• You will be expected to play a proactive part in the design process and to be active on several projects at any given time.
• You will be contributing to all types of projects.
• You will be using AutoCAD and other design software for the production and development of designs and drawings.
• You will read and adher to all relevant policies and procedures for Health and Safety including the H&S Policy, H&S Manual, and Local Procedures Manual.

Qualifications

• Proven working knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCDHW)
• Ability to support production of technical specifications and reports

Qualifications

• You will have a bachelor’s or post-graduate degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent with 2-4 years post-graduate experience in highway design
• Working towards a recognised professional qualification.
