Job summary

Surbana Jurong invites applications for an experienced engineer to supervise construction and O&M activities, ensuring adherence to quality standards and project specifications.

This role requires regular site visits, coordination with GM/DGM and contractors, and timely reporting of progress. The incumbent will identify causes of SL benchmarks gaps and implement corrective measures across water distribution schemes.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising construction and O&M activities.
• Experience with water quality testing in lab and field.
• Ability to coordinate with GM/DGM and contractors.
• Ability to review progress reports and measurements per TOR.
• Knowledge of service levels in distribution systems.

Responsibilities

• Supervise construction and O&M activities ensuring quality and compliance with technical standards.
• Visit assigned areas at least four days a week per tour plan to GM PIU and TL SQC.
• Identify causes for non-achievement of Service Level benchmarks and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate with village stakeholders to resolve disputes as nodal in charge for schemes.
• Interact with GM/DGM and review contractor progress reports for weekly/monthly updates.
• Check measurements as per TOR and perform design/bill checks as required.
• Handle additional duties assigned by Team Leader and GM/DGM.

Job description

• a) Supervise construction and O&M activities, ensuring quality control and adherence to technical standards.
• b) Visit assigned areas at least four days a week as per a submitted tour plan to GM PIU as well as TL SQC.
• c) In the absence or non-deployment of more staff, he/she may be allotted more areas to work.
• d) Shall be fully responsible for identifying the causes of non-achievement of the Service Level benchmarks in the distribution system/overall water supply system and recommend corrective measures.
• e) AE who is responsible to supervise the work of Headworks of any particular scheme will be the Nodal in charge for the scheme and he/she will be responsible to coordinate with the village people to resolve dispute if any.
• f) At least one Assistant Engineer must have experience in water quality testing using standard methods in lab and field-testing kit.
• g) Any engineering work like design check, bill check & reply to contractor(s).
• h) To interact with GM/DGM.
• i) To review progress reports submitted by the contractor and prepare weekly, monthly progress reports highlighting the issues on site.
• j) To check measurements as per TOR.
• k) All other duties assigned by the Team Leader and GM/DGM.
