This role involves close collaboration with engineering and production teams to ensure adherence to metallurgical standards, optimize furnace performance, and maintain compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The position demands a strong foundation in metallurgical engineering principles, hands-on experience with blast furnace operations, and a commitment to continuous improvement in a dynamic mining and metals environment.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring and analyzing blast furnace operations to ensure compliance with quality standards and operational parameters.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of quality assurance protocols specific to blast furnace processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot operational issues and recommend corrective actions to enhance furnace efficiency and product quality.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of furnace equipment and processes to identify potential risks and areas for improvement.
• Maintain detailed documentation of quality control activities, test results, and process deviations for reporting and compliance purposes.
• Participate in the development and execution of preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
• Assist in training and mentoring junior staff on quality assurance procedures and safety standards within the blast furnace environment.
• Contribute to the analysis of raw material quality and its impact on furnace performance, working closely with procurement and laboratory teams.
• Support environmental compliance efforts by monitoring emissions and waste management practices related to blast furnace operations.
