Job summary

HSBC is seeking an experienced Assistant Director - Global Collections Analytics to lead cross-regional analytics initiatives. You will design and deploy end-to-end analytical solutions spanning fraud, collections, underwriting, and credit bureau management, while ensuring regulatory and internal compliance.

You will guide model development, manage the analytics lifecycle, and partner with senior leaders to translate data into actionable business insights.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of analytics experience in a financial services environment.
• Expertise in SAS, SQL and Python in delivering analytics solutions.
• Experience managing end-to-end analytical models from conception to deployment.
• Strong understanding of data governance, AML, and regulatory compliance.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Director - Global Collections Analytics.

In This Role, You Will

• Strong understanding of business domain, functional goals, and the required technical expertise across multiple regions. Makes decisions, even with ambiguous /incomplete data at a pace that balances the need for further analysis and the need for timely decision given business priorities / requirements.
• Translate key analytical solutions as generic and re-deployable across regions / markets. Drive redeployment of the solutions
• Provide actionable analytical solutions for unstructured business problems. Communicates across all levels and with senior executives.
• Lead analytical projects and/or statistical models to include project design, data collection, database design, analysis, and presentation of results.
• Act as an SME (Subject Matter Expert)/consultant, conceptualize analytical solution for the business problem at hand for multiple businesses/regions.
• Implementing advanced data management and governance practices
• Ensure adherence with all the applicable compliance policies (Data security policy, AML (Anti Money Laundering), operational risk, Functional manual, Group Compliance Manual, Audit recommendations, Internal Control requirements, regulatory guidelines etc.) and business standards of Organization as applicable. Take timely action on Audit comments and be able to demonstrate compliance with Internal controls.
• Ability to define, communicate, and execute a clear analytical vision that aligns with business objectives and inspires the team

To Be Successful, You Will

• Deep expertise in designing and implementing end-to-end analytical solutions that drive significant business impact across diverse operational domains (Fraud, Collections, Underwriting, Credit Bureau).
• Ability to identify and champion strategic analytical initiatives that align with broader business objectives and deliver measurable ROI (Return on Investment).
• Experience in managing and optimizing the full lifecycle of analytical models, from conceptualization and development to deployment, monitoring, and recalibration in a production environment.
• Strong programming skills in at least two of the following: SAS (Statistical Analysis System), Python, R, SQL (Structured Query Language), Java - Spring Boot, ReactJS, Tableau, Qlik, Looker, Power BI (Power Business Intelligence), or similar platforms (Specific to the role)
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS (Amazon Web Services), Azure) and/or big data ecosystems (e.g., Hadoop).
• Demonstrated success in leveraging analytics to significantly reduce fraud losses, improve collections efficiency, optimize underwriting profitability, or enhance credit bureau management effectiveness.
• Leadership in the selection, development, and deployment of advanced statistical and machine learning models (e.g., deep learning, reinforcement learning, advanced NLP (Natural Language Processing)) for complex operational problems.
• Minimum 8+ years of proven track record in Analytics or equivalent. Strong programming knowledge of SAS(Statistical Analysis System), SQL (Structured Query Language), Python.
