Role Overview

As an Assistant Cost Manager, you support the Commission Manager in project delivery and assist in cost management activities. Assistant Cost Managers handle a wide range of projects of all sizes and dimensions.

Key Responsibilities

Project Support & Coordination

• Conduct background research, data collection and benchmarking.
• Estimate and produce cost plans to support the cost management team.
• Compile and amend the tender list, analyze tenders and draft corresponding tender reports.
• Assist the cost manager in compiling procurement documentation.
• Address variations and assist in managing the change control processes, negotiating less financially significant or complex matters.
• Conduct cost checks and valuations.
• Assist the cost management team in preparing final accounts.

Monitoring & Reporting

• Track progress on cost management and draft monthly cost reports.
• Document control for cost management documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, Construction, Engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree is a plus.
• 2‑5 years’ experience in cost management or construction projects (e.g., cost manager, construction manager, procurement, project manager, vendor, consultant).
• Foundation and understanding of quantity surveying, tools, and methodologies is a plus.
• Native‑level proficiency in the local language, business‑level proficiency in English.
• Proficiency in Cost‑X or equivalent cost estimation software is a plus.
• Proficient communication and interpersonal skills.
