Access Healthcare in Chennai seeks an experienced Assistant Controller / Accounting Manager to oversee accounting for a portfolio of clients. You will supervise a team of accountants, ensure timely, accurate financial statements, and work closely with clients and auditors to maintain GAAP compliance.

The role requires a strong accounting background, leadership experience, and excellent communication skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Formación

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CA or CPA designation preferred.
• Experience in third-party multifamily property management is preferred.
• Previous experience leading or managing accounting teams.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and critical-thinking skills.

Responsabilidades

• Supervise the accounting activities for an assigned team of accountants.
• Ensure timely delivery of accurate financial statements within required client deadlines.
• Communicate regularly with clients regarding financial performance and address queries.
• Review financial statements prepared by the team for accuracy and completeness.
• Supervise review of rent rolls, bank reconciliations, and monthly operating results vs. budgets.
• Coordinate with operations to prepare and approve budgets for each property.
• Participate in recruitment and conduct performance reviews for junior staff.
• Monitor team efficiency and adjust staffing as needed to meet targets.
• Support competitive audit responses and liaise with auditors.
• Identify issues and recommend improvements to procedures and processes.
• Collaborate with clients, auditors, and stakeholders to maintain high-quality accounting standards.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Controller / Accounting Manager to oversee and coordinate the preparation of property financial statements for a portfolio of clients. The role involves supervising a team of accountants, working closely with clients and auditors, and ensuring that all accounting practices comply with generally accepted accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the accounting activities for an assigned team of accountants.
• Ensure timely delivery of accurate financial statements within required client deadlines.
• Communicate regularly with clients regarding the financial performance of their properties and address accounting-related queries.
• Review financial statements prepared by the accounting team to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Supervise the review of rent rolls, bank reconciliations, and monthly operating results against approved budgets.
• Coordinate with operational team members to prepare and approve financial budgets for each property.
• Participate in the recruitment process and conduct annual performance reviews for Senior Accountants, Accountants, and Junior Accountants.
• Monitor team efficiency and recommend appropriate staffing levels to meet performance expectations.
• Support Assistant Controllers in responding to financial audit requests.
• Identify accounting and operational issues and recommend improvements to accounting procedures and processes.
• Work collaboratively with fellow Assistant Controllers, clients, auditors, and internal stakeholders to maintain high-quality accounting standards.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelors or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CA or CPA designation preferred.
