Job summary

WSP India is seeking an Assistant BIM Technician to join the Bridges Department in Mumbai/Noida. You will deliver detailed bridge and structural drawings, collaborating with engineers to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.

Proficiency in CAD/BIM tools and bridge design principles is essential for success. The role offers exposure to a range of projects from small repairs to large-scale constructions, with responsibility for coordinating templates, library items, and QA/archiving

Qualifications

• Diploma CAD with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience of having worked in a similar role.
• Competence in AutoCAD/Revit/SofiSTIK BIM/Micro station/RCD/CIVIL 3D.

Responsibilities

• Manage production of work, review and ensure it is carried out to specified WSP CAD standards.
• Use templates for CAD/BIM work and use CAD/BIM library items to assist design work; lead production of templates and library items.
• Agree priorities and deadlines for drawing production through liaison with the Project Engineer and Canada Client team
• Coordination of engineering services on projects to ensure inputs are received timely and outputs issued after full review.
• Ensure that work produced by the team is to specified WSP CAD/BIM standards; suggest revisions to standards as appropriate
• Use templates for CAD/BIM work and use CAD/BIM library items to assist design work
• Ensure all work follows QA, document control, archiving & CDM guidelines
• Coordinate engineering services to ensure timely inputs and reviewed outputs
• Review sketches and drawings to query unbuildable/conflicting details or missing information
• Raise and follow up RFIs; maintain a log of open queries
• Maintain dialogue with Project Engineer and Canada client team
• Develop REVIT, MicroStation, Civil 3D, and ASD skills; document progress
• Share knowledge with colleagues and GCC team
• Document new skills for new starters
• Support WSP India CAD/BIM forums
• Plan and prepare standard details for repetitive work
• Plan and produce templates and CAD library items
• Exchange information and share libraries with Canada and GCC teams

WSP India is currently seeking a Assistant BIM Technician to join our Bridges Department, located at our Mumbai/Noida office. This position will be responsible for the delivery of producing detailed bridge and structural drawings for various Canadian projects, including bridges, LRT components, retaining walls, and other related structures. The successful candidate will be expected to handle complex projects, and prioritize effectively and Passionate about bridges and eager to put CAD/BIM skills to good use.

As Assistant BIM Technician - Bridges at GCC, you will play a crucial role in our design and development process. Will work closely with our team of engineers to create detailed technical drawings and plans for a variety of bridge projects. Ability to use CAD/BIM software and understanding of bridge design principles will be essential to success in this role.

In addition to creating and revising detailed drawings, you will also be responsible for collaborating with the engineering team to ensure that designs are accurate and comply with industry standards. Opportunities shall be provided to work on a wide range of projects, from small-scale bridge repairs to large-scale bridge constructions, allowing to expand and refine the skills in the bridge discipline.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all work produced by the team follows QA, document control, archiving & CDM guidelines
• Co-ordination of engineering services on projects to sure that the correct inputs are received timely and the outputs are issued after full review.
• Review engineer’s sketches and other design team member drawings and details with a view to querying any unbuildable / conflicting details or missing information.
• Raise and follow up requests for information; maintain a log of open queries
• Maintain regular dialogue with Project Engineer and Canada client Team
• Ensure that the development of skills in REVIT, Micro station, Civil 3D and ASD is documented
• Be responsible for the sharing of knowledge with immediate colleagues and the rest of the GCC
• Ensure that all new skills learnt are documented and available for new starters to the team.
• Proactively support the WSP India CAD / BIM forums.
• Plan and prepare standard details for repetitive or small / routine work.
• Plan and produce templates and CAD library items to assist design work.
• Exchange information and share libraries and details with Canada and other GCC teams inclusive

Qualifications

• Diploma Cad with at least 5 years of relevant experience
