Job summary

EPAM Systems, Inc. seeks an experienced AS/400 Application Specialist to guide the AI Tools team in modernizing IBM iSeries applications. You will analyze legacy RPG/CL/COBOL code, perform refactoring, and drive Db2 for i improvements while coordinating with cross-functional teams.

Collaborate with IBM SMEs and AI-focused teams to validate analysis logic, enhance tooling, and ensure adherence to security and enterprise standards across geographies.

Qualifications

• 9+ years in enterprise midrange iSeries/AS/400 tech with 5+ years in analysis & modernization.
• Expertise in RPG III/IV/RPGLE, CL/CLLE, COBOL, DDS, DSPFs, SQL, and Db2 for i.
• Experience in reverse engineering, architecture analysis, and modernization strategies.

Responsibilities

• Lead analysis and modernization of AS/400 applications and reverse engineering efforts.
• Collaborate with AI Tools team to refine analysis logic and prompts for accuracy.
• Map dependencies, business rules, and data flows; assess code quality and risks.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise standards, security, and data-protection controls.
