Job summary

EPAM Systems, Inc. seeks an experienced AS/400 Application Specialist to guide modernization of IBM iSeries applications, analyze legacy code, and shape AI-assisted documentation and insights.

You will lead RPG/COBOL analysis, perform porting to modern formats, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• 9+ years in enterprise midrange technologies with 5+ years in analysis and modernization.
• Deep expertise in RPG variants, COBOL, DDS, SQL and Db2 for i.
• Experience with reverse engineering, data-flow tracing and code analysis.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate deep expertise in IBM iSeries applications, architecture and data organization.
• Drive modernization including RPG refactoring, fixed-format-to-free-format conversion and Db2 modernization.
• Collaborate with AI Tools team to improve analysis logic and AI-generated documentation.
• Guide API/web-service enablement, UI modernization, cloud integration and re-platforming.
• Assess code dependencies, business rules, data flows, and undocumented legacy code.
• Produce accurate impact analyses, summaries and modernization recommendations.
