Job summary

FIS is seeking an Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning Engineer Lead in Bengaluru. You will lead the design, development, and deployment of Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions across finance-focused applications.

Collaborate with solution architects and data scientists to build scalable AI systems, ensure reliability and safety, and deliver business value through automation and innovation. Hybrid work arrangement applies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 4+ years of technology experience with 4+ years in AI/ML.
• Hands-on experience with large language models, agentic systems, and RAG.
• Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, scikit-learn).
• Experience deploying enterprise AI on AWS/Azure/GCP and API integrations.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy Generative AI applications using LLMs, retrieval systems, and enterprise data sources.
• Develop agent-based solutions with planning, memory, tool usage, orchestration, and autonomous task execution.
• Implement and optimize Agentic AI workflows and multi-agent systems with human-in-the-loop.
• Build and maintain RESTful services and enterprise integrations using Python, Flask, and FastAPI.
• Evaluate AI models and systems for accuracy, reliability, safety, grounding, and performance.

About the role

As an Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning Engineer Lead , you will help develop and deploy advanced Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions that drive innovation across FIS. You will work alongside solution architects, data scientists, and machine learning engineers to build intelligent applications, agent-based systems, and enterprise AI integrations. This role combines deep technical expertise with hands-on development to deliver scalable, reliable, and business-focused AI solutions.

Your key responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy Generative AI applications leveraging large language models, retrieval systems, and enterprise data sources.
• Develop agent-based solutions incorporating planning, memory, tool usage, orchestration, and autonomous task execution.
• Implement and optimize Agentic AI workflows, including multi-agent systems and human-in-the-loop processes.
• Build and maintain RESTful services and enterprise integrations using Python, Flask, and FastAPI.
• Evaluate AI models, agents, and end-to-end systems for accuracy, reliability, safety, grounding, and performance.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience.
• 4+ years of overall technology experience, including 4+ years focused on Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Generative AI, or Agentic AI.
• Strong hands-on experience designing and building solutions using large language models, agentic systems, prompt engineering, model orchestration, context management, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
• Advanced proficiency in Python and experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, scikit-learn, and pandas.
• Experience deploying enterprise AI solutions on cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, including API integrations and vector database technologies.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience fine-tuning large language models, including parameter-efficient techniques such as LoRA and QLoRA.
• Familiarity with AI orchestration frameworks and tools such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, AutoGen, or OpenAI Assistants API.
• Knowledge of production-grade machine learning operations, monitoring, observability, security, compliance, and data governance practices for AI systems.
