Job summary

Fulcrum Worldwide Software is seeking an experienced backend/AI engineer to lead and implement systems at scale. The role focuses on production-grade Java backend services (Spring Boot, microservices) and Python for AI/ML integration, with hands-on work on LLM-based pipelines and AI orchestration.

You will design scalable distributed architectures, improve observability, and drive CI/CD and cloud deployments (AWS/Azure). Leadership and mentoring responsibilities are expected.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Java for production backend services.
• Strong proficiency in Python for AI/ML development.
• Experience building systems using LLMs in production with API integration and prompt management.
• Experience with agentic frameworks (LangGraph, LangChain) or similar.
• Ability to design scalable, observable distributed systems.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern SDLC practices.
• Experience with cloud platforms AWS or Azure including managed AI/ML services.
• Technical leadership experience: design reviews, mentorship, and setting engineering standards.

Job description

• Strong proficiency in Java for production backend services (Spring Boot, microservices architecture)
  


• Strong proficiency in Python for AI/ML development (agentic frameworks, scripting, service integration)
  


• Hands-on experience building systems that use LLMs in production: API integration, prompt management, streaming, error handling, cost management
  


• Experience with at least one of: agentic frameworks (LangGraph, LangChain, or similar), RAG pipelines, or AI orchestration systems
  


• Proven ability to design scalable, reliable distributed systems with strong observability (logging, metrics, tracing, alerting)
  


• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern SDLC practices: automated testing, quality gates, deployment automation
  


• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure), including managed AI/ML services
  


• Technical leadership experience: design reviews, mentorship, and setting engineering standards for a team
