Job summary

Zemoso Technologies is seeking a Senior GenAI Engineer with strong core engineering foundations and hands-on experience building and deploying GenAI features in production. You will own end-to-end GenAI initiatives, mentor junior engineers, and translate ambiguous requirements into working solutions.

You should have 4–6 years of overall software experience, 1–2 years in GenAI, and backend skills in Java, Node.js, Python or .NET.

This role is execution- and ownership-focused, responsible for delivering GenAI features end-to-end while mentoring junior engineers and handling ambiguous requirements.

This position is part of our initial GenAI hiring phase, where we prioritize strong backend engineers who have recently built and shipped GenAI solutions.

Experience Profile

• Overall experience: 4–6 years
• Core engineering background: Java / Node.js / Python / .NET
• GenAI experience: 1–2 years of hands‑on, production‑level experience

Key Responsibilities

GenAI Solution Development

• Build and deploy GenAI-powered features within real‑world products.
• Design and implement RAG pipelines, including:w
• Embeddings
• Retrieval strategies
• Integrate GenAI capabilities with backend systems via APIs and services.

System & Solution Ownership

• Own GenAI solutions end‑to‑end, from design to production rollout.
• Design RAG architectures and decide:
• Chunking strategies
• Retrieval approaches
• Handle ambiguous requirements and convert them into working solutions.

Reliability, Quality & Performance

• Address latency, cost, and evaluation considerations in GenAI systems.
• Implement guardrails and safety mechanisms.
• Contribute to monitoring and basic operational readiness.

Agentic AI Exposure

• Build or work with agent-based workflows, including:
• Multi‑step reasoning flows
• Tool/function calling
• Orchestrated GenAI interactions
• Exposure to agent frameworks is a plus, but deep research is not expected.
• Mentor junior engineers working on GenAI components.
• Review GenAI‑related code and designs.
• Collaborate closely with backend, data, and product teams.

Must-Have Skills

• Strong backend engineering experience in Java / Node.js / Python / .NET.
• Hands‑on experience building GenAI applications in production.
• Experience with:
• LLM APIs

• Solid understanding of API design and backend integrations.
• Ability to reason about trade‑offs in performance, cost, and reliability.
