Job summary

Capital Numbers seeks a senior, hands-on AI professional to work across pre-sales, solution architecture, rapid prototyping, team formation, and delivery. You will engage with prospects to understand business problems, propose practical AI solutions, and lead delivery teams while remaining technically accountable during implementation.

Responsibilities include discovery calls, quick solution direction, designing AI architectures, building PoCs, and preparing proposals.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering or solution architecture experience.
• 5+ years delivering applied AI or machine learning solutions.
• Recent hands-on experience building GenAI applications.
• Experience taking at least two AI solutions from discovery or PoC through production.
• Experience supporting pre-sales, proposals, technical discovery, and commercial estimation.

• Participate in discovery calls with founders, CTOs, CIOs, product leaders, and business stakeholders.
• Provide an initial solution direction, effort estimate, budget range, and delivery approach quickly.
• Design practical architectures for AI products, GenAI applications, AI agents, automation solutions, chatbots, predictive systems, and AI integrations.
• Personally build rapid PoCs and technical demonstrations.
• Prepare technical content for proposals, presentations, estimates, and statements of work.
• Interview and select AI engineers, data engineers, backend developers, and other specialists.
• Establish coding, evaluation, security, documentation, and review standards.
• Remain technically accountable during early delivery and transition daily execution to the appropriate technical lead.
• Support client communication during implementation, especially around technical risks and major decisions.

We are looking for a senior, hands-on AI professional who can work across pre-sales, solution architecture, rapid prototyping, team formation, and delivery.

You will work directly with prospects and clients to understand business problems, recommend practical AI solutions, build quick proofs of concept, estimate projects, help close opportunities, form delivery teams, and remain technically accountable during implementation.

The right candidate will combine strong client-facing skills with current, hands-on engineering capability.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in discovery calls with founders, CTOs, CIOs, product leaders, and business stakeholders.
• Provide an initial solution direction, effort estimate, budget range, and delivery approach quickly.
• Design practical architectures for AI products, GenAI applications, AI agents, automation solutions, chatbots, predictive systems, and AI integrations.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on development experience with Python and frameworks such as FastAPI.
• Working knowledge of Node.js or TypeScript.
• Strong understanding of Generative AI, large language models, RAG, embeddings, semantic search, vector databases, tool calling, and AI-agent workflows.
• Experience integrating models and services from providers such as OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or comparable platforms.
• Experience with REST APIs, webhooks, authentication, databases, enterprise applications, and third-party system integrations.
• Ability to build simple user interfaces or demonstrations using lightweight web frameworks.
• Experience deploying AI applications on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Working knowledge of Docker, CI/CD, application monitoring, secrets management, and production support.
• Understanding of LLM evaluation, hallucination reduction, guardrails, observability, prompt management, latency, and cost optimization.
• Knowledge of data privacy, PII handling, access controls, tenant isolation, and secure AI architecture.
• Working knowledge of applied machine learning, predictive analytics, recommendations, computer vision, OCR, or voice AI.

Required Professional Experience

• 10+ years of software engineering or solution architecture experience.
• 5+ years of experience delivering applied AI or machine learning solutions.
• Recent hands-on experience building GenAI applications.
• Experience taking at least two AI solutions from discovery or PoC through production.
• Experience supporting pre-sales, proposals, technical discovery, and commercial estimation.
• Experience working directly with international clients.
• Experience building, mentoring, or leading engineering teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work with speed without compromising technical quality or commercial discipline.

• Experience supporting AI opportunity conversion and deal closure.
• Experience delivering AI solutions for multiple industries.
