Solventum in Bangalore is seeking an Ariba Guided Buying Specialist to enable and optimize the indirect procurement tech landscape across SAP Ariba Guided Buying, Commerce Automation, and P2O integrations.

You will troubleshoot procurement transactions and collaborate with Procurement, Finance, IT, and suppliers to improve buying channels and ensure compliance with internal controls.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Role Overview

The Ariba Guided Buying, Commerce Automation, and P2O Specialist is responsible for enabling, supporting, and continuously improving Solventum’s indirect procurement technology landscape across SAP Ariba Guided Buying, Commerce Automation, SAP Business Network, P2O, SAP S/4HANA, catalog management, and related integrations. This role combines functional process knowledge, system configuration, customization, supplier and catalog enablement, incident management, and hands‑on troubleshooting to deliver a compliant, user-friendly, and reliable purchasing experience.

The Impact You’ll Make in This Role

As an Ariba Guided Buying, Commerce Automation, and P2O Specialist, you will help strengthen Solventum’s Source-to-Pay operations by:

Serving as a functional and technical support specialist for Ariba Guided Buying, Commerce Automation, P2O, and SAP S/4HANA procurement integration processes.
Supporting end‑to‑end buying processes from guided requisition creation through purchase order transmission, supplier response, confirmation, shipping notice, invoicing, and exception handling.
Enabling and maintaining catalogs, punchout sites, supplier content, buying channels, forms, landing pages, tiles, policies, and guided buying rules to improve usability and compliance.
Providing configuration, customization, testing, and release support for Guided Buying, Commerce Automation, catalog management, and P2O enhancements.
Troubleshooting requisition, purchase order, supplier network, catalog, approval, integration, and transaction failures across Ariba, SAP Business Network, middleware, and SAP S/4HANA.
Partnering with Procurement, Category Managers, Finance, IT, GBS partners, suppliers, and support teams to resolve issues, improve buying channels, and support business continuity.
Participating in requirements gathering, solution design, UAT, regression testing, deployment, hyper-care, and post‑go‑live stabilization for procurement technology changes.
Ensuring procurement processes, configurations, and support activities align with internal controls, compliance expectations, audit readiness, and operational service levels.

Key Responsibilities

Act as the primary support and process specialist for Ariba Guided Buying, Commerce Automation, P2O, SAP Business Network, and related SAP S/4HANA procurement integrations.
Configure, maintain, and support Guided Buying functionality including landing pages, tiles, forms, policies, buying channels, approval guidance, non‑catalog buying, and user experience improvements.
Support catalog management activities including hosted catalogs, punchout catalogs, supplier content updates, catalog validation, commodity/category alignment, catalog troubleshooting, and content lifecycle coordination.
Enable and support Commerce Automation and SAP Business Network transaction flows such as purchase orders, order confirmations, ship notices, receipt‑related processes, invoices, and supplier collaboration exceptions.
Investigate and resolve P2O and integration issues involving requisitions, purchase orders, approvals, supplier routing, failed messages, master data, catalog content, and transaction status mismatches between Ariba and SAP S/4HANA.
Partner with Category Managers, Procurement, Finance, IT, integration teams, suppliers, and external support providers to translate business needs into practical system configuration or enhancement solutions.
Perform root‑cause analysis, document issue resolution steps, maintain support knowledge articles, and identify recurring defects or process gaps for continuous improvement.
Support customization, enhancement intake, impact assessment, testing, deployment planning, hyper-care, and steady‑state support for procurement technology changes.
Participate in design workshops, requirement reviews, configuration validation, UAT, regression testing, defect triage, and release readiness activities.
Ensure process documentation, configuration decisions, and support actions are traceable, compliant with procurement controls, and suitable for audit or operational review.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To set you up for success from day one, Solventum requires:

Bachelor’s Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited university; OR
High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 8–10 years of experience in procurement operations, procurement technology, ERP support, or related IT/business process roles.
5+ years of experience in Source-to-Pay, P2O, indirect procurement, catalog buying, supplier enablement, procurement operations, or related business process support.
Hands‑on experience supporting SAP Ariba Guided Buying, Commerce Automation, SAP Business Network, and integration with SAP ERP or SAP S/4HANA.
Experience troubleshooting procurement transactions, catalog issues, supplier network exceptions, approval or routing issues, and master‑data‑related purchasing errors.
Experience implementing, configuring, customizing, or supporting SAP Ariba Guided Buying, Ariba Buying and Invoicing, Commerce Automation, or SAP Business Network.
Strong understanding of P2O and indirect procurement process flows, including requisitioning, approvals, purchase order creation, supplier transmission, confirmations, goods or service receipt, invoicing, and exception management.
Knowledge of catalog management practices, including hosted catalogs, punchout catalogs, supplier content validation, category mapping, catalog refresh cycles, and catalog issue resolution.
Familiarity with Ariba‑to‑SAP S/4HANA integration concepts, supplier network transaction routing, middleware monitoring, message failure analysis, and end‑to‑end transaction traceability.
Experience supporting ERP or Ariba deployments, transformation initiatives, release management, cutover planning, data validation, and post‑go‑live stabilization.

Additional Qualifications (Preferred)

Ability to perform structured troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis, defect triage, and knowledge documentation for recurring support issues.
Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills across functional, technical, business, supplier, and support teams.
Awareness of emerging trends in digital procurement, guided buying, supplier collaboration, automation, and user‑centered buying experiences.
