Job summary

Kotak Mahindra Bank is seeking an Area Credit Manager for Home Loan/LAP to oversee credit underwriting in the assigned area. You will guide Credit Managers, ensure proper assessments, and deliver timely decisions while maintaining policy compliance and portfolio quality.

The role requires experience in Home Loan/LAP and related credit domains, with team leadership and strong analytical skills to support sales and risk functions across the region.

Qualifications

• CA preferred; MBA or PG degree.
• 2+ years of team handling experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of financials, cash flows, repayment capacity and portfolio risk.
• Experience in Home Loan/LAP, SME finance, asset finance or corporate credit preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and guide Credit Managers / Location Credit Managers.
• Ensure proper credit assessment for Home Loan/LAP loan proposals.
• Review customer profile, financials, banking, bureau, cash flows, existing loans, asset value and repayment ability.
• Handle cases across individuals, SMEs, mid-sized and large corporate customers.
• Ensure decisions are taken within policy, delegation and TAT.
• Monitor portfolio quality, early warning signs and delinquencies.
• Ensure proper documentation, compliance and audit readiness.
• Train and support the credit team on policy, process and credit assessment.
• Work closely with Sales, Collections, Operations, Risk, Legal and RCU teams.
