Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to initiate and drive technology, software, product, and/or solution development using in-depth technical expertise in a specific area. Each day, you will act as the first point of contact in Research and Development (R&D) for in-depth product or technology-related issues. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting strategic corporate technology management and future product/software/solution architecture.The work model for the role is: Hybrid #LI HybridThis role is contributing to the Process Automation Business of Process Control Platform Division in Bangalore.You will be mainly accountable for:•The Principal R&D Engineer / Architect aligns with System architect for Automation Vision and helps to define the overall vision for the DCS Platform Functions. This involves understanding the long-term goals and desired outcomes.•Basic knowledge in various Software Architecture styles like REST, Microservices etc. Experience with designing and developing scalable, microservices-based systems with asynchronous programming and design patterns.•Proficient in Object Oriented Programming (includes SOLID, Design Patterns, UML), Task Parallel Programming (Async, Await), Functional Programming (LINQ/PLINQ). Experience in Software modelling, information modelling etc, and hands on experience in Software Design, Design patterns, architectural patterns and experience with UML, EA tool etc (Preferred).•Responsible for architectural backlog Management, evaluating / finalising design as well as architecture related to the Platform , Prioritizing items based on business value, customer needs, and technical feasibility.

Qualifications for the role

• •Minimum 15 to 20 years of experience in.NET Core, ASP.NET, Web API and Entity Framework. Understanding of Angular, React including components, directives, services and routing
• Deep understanding of Linux internals, with experience in system-level operations and performance optimization. Proficiency with container technologies and formats like Docker, Podman, or CRI-O for building, managing, and securing containerized applications.
• Knowledge of container orchestration patterns, cluster lifecycle management, and multi-cluster Kubernetes solutions.
• Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms
• Ability to design and implement complex, scalable and secure platform applications for engineering tools
• Experience in mentoring team members , Excellent documentation skills and the ability to communicate complex concepts. Strong exposure on identifying technical risks , protecting the Intellectual Properties and fostering a culture of innovation
• Preferred:
• a. Industrial Automation Domain
• b. Knowledge on ABB DCS systems
