Tata Electronics Limited is seeking a Network Lead to drive deployments, operations and security across TEPL IT infrastructure in Karnataka, India. You will lead the deployment of active and passive networks, coordinate with plant teams, and ensure robust, compliant networking for manufacturing processes.

The role emphasizes security, incident resolution, change control, and disaster recovery planning, with experience in large IT environments and manufacturing a distinct advantage.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • 10–12 years of experience with at least 8 years in networking.
  • Experience managing large IT infrastructure; manufacturing domain exposure is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy active network components for new setups and line conversions. Implement TEPL standards for device hardening.
  • Manage network support operations and resolve reported issues promptly.
  • Monitor uplinks/interfaces for errors to ensure connectivity for manufacturing applications.
  • Maintain network hygiene (active/passive), handle escalations, and ensure device availability.
  • Lead change control processes, document changes, and ensure SLA adherence.

Job description

Tata Semiconductor Assembly & Test (TSAT) is a greenfield venture of the Tata Group with expertise in manufacturing in IC & SMT Packages.
Tata Electronics (a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd.) is building India’s first AI-enabled state-of-the-art Semiconductor Packaging facility . This facility will produce chips for applications such as power management IC, display drivers, microcontrollers (MCU) and high-performance computing logic, addressing the growing demand in markets such as automotive, computing and data storage, wireless communications and artificial intelligence.

Network Lead will be primarily responsible for:
  • New network deployments (active & passive) and handling network operations leading the team
  • Collaborate with all plant network operations teams and leads
  • Ensure network & security availability/compliance is maintained across TEPL IT Infrastructure
  • Lead implementation of Network and security solutions across TEPL IT landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Network Deployment & Setup (20%)
  • Deploy active network components for new setups and line conversions. Implement TEPL standards for device hardening
  • Support PoC for new network solutions
  • Build enterprise Fiber backbone with redundancy and provision ISP Internet/WAN links.
Operations & Support (40%)
  • Manage network support operations and resolve reported issues promptly
  • Monitor uplinks/interfaces for errors to ensure connectivity for manufacturing applications
  • Maintain network hygiene (active/passive), handle escalations, and ensure device availability
  • Coordinate repairs, manage shift rosters, and maintain health checklists.
Compliance & Security (10%)
  • Ensure network devices comply with ES security controls
  • Remediate audit and vulnerability findings
  • Maintain updated inventory and enforce hardening guidelines
  • Back up configurations to meet RTO objectives for BCP scenarios.
  • Lead critical incident resolution, perform RCA, and track preventive actions
  • Enforce change control processes, prevent unauthorized changes, and document all changes in ITSM
  • Review change plans and ensure SLA adherence.
Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery (10%)
  • Participate in DR/BCP planning and work on BCP Process
  • Prepare spare devices to meet RTO in case of hardware failure.
Documentation (10%)
  • Review and version-control critical documents
  • Incorporate any network changes into documentation
  • Ensure accessibility for the team when required.
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an equivalent qualification
    • Professional networking certifications preferred10–12 years of experience, with at least 8 years in networking (firewalls, switches, routers, LAN, proxy, load balancers)
    • Experience managing large IT infrastructure; manufacturing domain exposure is an advantage
    Key Interaction requirements:
    • With DRI from all internal units - to understand and fulfil IT related business requests, troubleshoot any issues they report
    • With Other Internal Digital Teams to understand and fulfil IT related business requests & collaborate with them to troubleshoot
    • With Internal Teams to handle operational tasks
    • With external OEM/Vendors to troubleshoot, support, Service level reviews & escalations.
