Job Summary

As an Architect in the Data Engineering organization at JioHotstar, you will define and drive the long-term technical vision for our data platform and infrastructure. You will lead the design of scalable, reliable, and high-performance data systems that power analytics, machine learning, experimentation, and business decision-making at massive scale. These systems have seen world record-breaking traffic, on the order of 72M live concurrent users while ingesting data at 400M RPM.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the long-term architecture and technical strategy for data platforms and distributed systems across teams
• Build an AI-native data platform system that is reinventing how data is ingested and analyzed at JioHotstar
• Build scalable, reliable, and cost-efficient data infrastructure to support analytics, ML, and operational workloads
• Wear the product hat and be able to think about what and how to build the next set of systems
• Drive operational excellence by improving system reliability, observability, scalability, and efficiency
• Ensure high standards in architecture, system design, code quality, and engineering best practices
• Simplify complex technical challenges into pragmatic, scalable solutions
• Create and execute technical roadmaps aligned with business and organizational goals
• Understand system dependencies, trade-offs, and limitations to guide strategic decision-making
• Lead the design and delivery of mission-critical systems and platform capabilities
• Influence engineering teams through technical leadership, architectural reviews, and hands-on problem-solving
• Mentor engineers and technical leaders, fostering engineering growth and strong technical culture
• Encourage experimentation and rapid prototyping to accelerate innovation and reduce ambiguity
