Job summary

onsemi in Bengaluru seeks a Platform Architect – Digital Compute, Analog & Mixed Signal Products. As Senior Principal Engineer, you will define the design platform and methodologies across hardware and software for a broad spectrum of products.

You will lead architecture definition, RTL modeling, and performance analysis, mentoring global teams while driving new design methodologies for efficiency and robustness.

Qualifications

• B.Tech or M.Tech in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 15+ years of strong technical experience across VLSI design.
• Experience with embedded CPUs (hardware and firmware).
• Proficiency in Python and C/C++ for automation and embedded software.
• FPGA prototyping and mixed-signal awareness.

Responsibilities

• Technical leadership: Define architecture and methodology for a new design platform for hardware and software.
• Problem solving: Identify novel solutions when architecting product functionality and design methods.
• Technical guidance & mentoring: Lead worldwide teams in technical areas from microarchitecture to productization.

The Role

This role presents an exciting opportunity to define the design architecture and methodologies for a new platform of digital compute and analog/mixed-signal products. As Senior Principal Engineer, you will define the design platform, targeting a large variety of different products. Your responsibilities will include architecture definition, design specification, RTL modeling and performance analysis. Also, you will get to define the design methodologies spanning the entire scope of chip design. You will have a central role within the organization, and you have the opportunity to interact with many product and design teams.

What You’ll Do

• Technical leadership: Define the architecture and methodology for a new design platform targeting a broad spectrum of products, covering elements of hardware and software
• Problem solving: Identify novel solutions when architecting product functionality and/or with design methodologies
• Technical guidance & mentoring: Guide world-wide teams in technical areas, from microarchitecture to productization
• Innovation: Define and create design methodology and design flow improvements for efficiency and robustness

Responsibilities

What Else You May Bring (Experience in some of the following areas is a plus)

• Experience in the design of CPU/MCU (sub)systems, compute functions and accelerators
• Development of signal processing components or processing systems
• Programming in Python for automation and C/C++ for embedded software
• Definition of design intent: one or more of specification, microarchitecture, structural / functional assessments (CDC, test readiness), verification methods (formal / simulation), physical design (synthesis, timing/power optimisation), process technology aspects, etc.
• Experience in FPGA prototyping
• Awareness in mixed-signal design and verification

Qualifications

What You’ll Need

• B.Tech / M.Tech in Electrical Engineering or related technical field
• At least 15 years of strong technical experience across any domain of VLSI design
• An extensive technical background within the development of semiconductor products or sub-components (IPs)
• Experience with embedded CPUs, from a hardware and software/firmware perspective
• Ability to define strategic actions, with appropriate design trade-off analyses
