Job summary

Getinge is seeking a technically adept professional to expand our bioprocessing market in India, with emphasis on biopharmaceutical production, research, and academia. You will act as the primary technical expert for bioreactors and automation, delivering on-site and remote support, demonstrations, and trials.

Ideal candidates will have strong life-science credentials, hands-on bioreactor experience, and excellent English communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or related field; PhD or Master’s preferred.
• Strong understanding of bioprocessing and cell culture principles.
• Hands-on experience working with bioreactors in lab or industrial settings.
• Ability to convey technical knowledge of products to customers and internal teams.
• Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills in English.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the defined territory.

Responsibilities

• Develop and grow market share in Biopharmaceutical/Pharmaceutical sectors and academia by providing technical expertise to internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Sales, Factory, Service, and Distributor teams to expand bioprocessing business and support opportunities.
• Serve as primary technical expert for bioreactor and bioprocessing solutions and provide remote and on-site support.
• Plan and execute customer demonstrations, proof-of-concept studies, and equipment trials.
• Deliver advanced product and process training to customers and internal teams; develop technical documentation.
• Support process automation, SCADA workflows, and optimization of process performance.
• Maintain CRM records, track opportunities, and contribute to tender/proposals as needed.

This role will be responsible for developing and growing our market share within Biopharmaceutical / Pharmaceutical Production, Biomedical Research, Medical Devices, Academia and Laboratory by providing technical expertise to internal stakeholders and external customers for our bioprocessing product range.

Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties:

Business Development & Distributor Management

• Collaborate with Sales, Factory, Service, and Distributor teams to grow Getinge's bioprocessing business.
• Manage distributor activities and provide timely technical support, quotations, and business development guidance.
• Support opportunity development, account growth, and customer engagement activities.
• Assist in developing market strategies and identifying new business opportunities.

Customer Application & Technical Support

• Serve as the primary technical expert for bioreactor and bioprocessing solutions.
• Provide technical support remotely and on-site for bioprocess, equipment, automation, and software-related issues.
• Troubleshoot process and equipment challenges while ensuring timely resolution.
• Track support requests and identify recurring issues and improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with global application teams to share best practices and technical learnings

Customer Demonstrations & Process Trials

• Plan and execute customer demonstrations, proof-of-concept studies, and equipment trials.
• Organize demo equipment and provide process support to ensure agreed trial objectives are achieved.
• Present technical solutions to customers through meetings, workshops, webinars, and conferences.
• Support validation of bioprocess workflows and technology adoption.

Training & Knowledge Development

• Deliver advanced product, application, and process training to:
• Customers
• Internal sales teams
• Identify customer training needs and recommend tailored training programs.
• Develop customer references, application notes, success stories, and technical documentation.
• Support complex RFQs, tenders, and technical proposals.
• Ensure customer requirements are fully understood and addressed.
• Prepare technical documentation including:
• Datasheets
• Product literature
• Application notes
• Technical specifications
• Maintain accurate CRM records and opportunity tracking.

Process Automation & SCADA Support

• Support customers in developing process recipes and workflows using SCADA software.
• Assist in bioprocess automation and advanced process control implementation.
• Work with customers to optimize process performance, data acquisition, and control strategies.
• Monitor emerging bioprocessing technologies and industry trends.
• Analyze competitor solutions and market developments.
• Provide market feedback to sales, product management, and factory teams.
• Support development of future products and solutions through customer insights.

Must Have

• Bachelor’s degree and a PhD or Master’s in a relevant life science field such as Microbiology, Biotechnology, Bioengineering or similar.
• Strong understanding of bioprocessing and cell culture principles.
• Hands on experience working with bioreactors in a laboratory or industrial setting.
• Ability to technically convey knowledge of products and solutions.
• Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills at all levels.
• Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills (English).
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking abilities.
• Willing to travel significantly throughout your defined territory and further afield.

Good to Have

• Experience in a similar customer-facing position.
• Experience using SCADA software for advanced process control.
• Knowledge of life sciences regulations applicable to bioprocessing, including GMP.
• Experience training personnel on equipment and processes.
• Experience using CRM systems and preparing quotations.
• Knowledge of capital equipment tendering processes.
