Job Purpose:
Works as a technical expert to support the sales team in delivering total solution offers to customers and fulfill technical solutions that meet customer needs. Provides technical product and application solutions to customers and supports Account Managers, on site or remotely, to maximize and extend business opportunities within specified competencies. Ensures Sandvik Coromant products are correctly implemented and deployed to maximize customer impact and minimize competitor conversion. Supports Account Managers in technical presentations and customer interactions to secure opportunities for Sandvik Coromant, whether analogue or digital.
Main Responsibilities
- Technical Product & Services Implementation
- Deliver total technical solutions and sales support to end-customers and distributors, in close cooperation with Account Managers to grow share of wallet and strengthen customer relationships.
- Coordinate interaction between technical and commercial departments and relevant distributor services for projects; prepare integrated solutions for customers.
- Visit current and potential accounts as engaged by Account Managers.
- Support Account Manager in new product and service introductions to customers.
- Recommend products and services within core machining and expanded areas, including digital machining solutions, that fit client business needs during solution offers with Account Managers.
- Respond to complex technical questions regarding products, systems or services.
- Develop and deliver training to educate internal employees, external partners, and customers on product features.
- Troubleshoot, investigate and resolve technical problems during or after implementation.
- Develop test applications for testing modules, including customer-specific components.
- Build effective working relationships with end customers and distributors to secure priority implementation.
- Support sales activities including analysis of customer technical needs and the implementation of solutions.
- Proactively support cross-functional collaboration to deliver results.
- Act as an ambassador for new ways of working and future technology within the area of expertise to fulfill customer needs and drive profitable business.
- Ensure opportunities identified by Account Managers are qualified and technically applied to maximize market share and profitability.
- Document applied products and services performance and savings to support competitive product development.
- Lead customer projects from start to finish with Account Manager and manage post-sales activities including trainings.
- Liaise with hardware, software and systems design engineers to ensure products/services are modified and installed per customer needs.
- Work in a matrix organization to align technical aspects between customers, Account Managers and internal departments.
- Monitor competitors and alternative solutions that could jeopardize business in the area of competence.
Support in Business Development
- Develop business plans with Account Managers to increase market share and focus on key products in line with targets and KPIs.
- Provide proactive customer need analyses to Account Managers.
Other Responsibilities
- Maintain high quality and up-to-date data in the CRM (Dynamics) within the zone of responsibility.
- Participate in company improvement initiatives and follow internal regulations and processes for documents.
- Continuously improve knowledge of the Sandvik Coromant Offer, production quality, new tools and technologies.
- Pursue professional development through company trainings and independent learning.
- Participate in trade shows and other company events as required.
- Perform other requests from management related to company activity.
- Uphold high standards of performance, company rules and labor laws.
Required Competencies
- Broad technical knowledge in metal cutting tools.
- Strong competence in area of expertise.
- Structured, business-oriented approach to support a diverse, geographically distributed team.
- Ability to manage customer requests and business issues within a complex global matrix organization.
- Ability to listen to customers and project teams to understand needs and deliver suitable technical solutions for profitable business.
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM software and digital technologies in metalworking (Industry 4.0).
- Knowledge of LEAN processes and advanced metal cutting methods.
- Project management knowledge and experience; ability to manage external and internal relationships.
- Familiarity with Sandvik Coromant sales tools (e.g., Productivity Improvement Programs, Value Selling, Productivity Analyzer, CRM Dynamics).
- Proficiency with Office 365 tools (e.g., Teams) for daily work with stakeholders.
- Strong technical deployment execution to close commercial deals with Account Managers.
- Good communication and ability to present technically to targeted groups in English.

Experience
- Solid technical experience with engineering cutting tools and knowledge.
- Proven track record delivering strong business results.
- Solid knowledge of commercial and technical terms with industrial customers.
- Relevant CAD/CAM experience and application knowledge.
- Project management experience is an advantage.
- Experience managing external and internal customer relationships is an advantage.
- People management experience is an advantage.
Education
Degree or equivalent qualification in mechanical/manufacturing engineering or a related field.
