Job summary

CADFEM APAC is seeking a highly skilled photonics researcher to lead simulation-driven R&D and customer engagements in Hyderabad. You will develop proof-of-concepts and benchmark models for photonics applications, bridging device physics with system-level validation.

You will collaborate with customers and internal teams, translating complex simulation results into actionable insights and training materials, while staying current with silicon photonics and quantum photonics trends.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Photonics, Optics, or Electronics; PhD preferred for senior level.
• Strong fundamentals in Maxwell’s equations, EM wave propagation, and optical materials.
• Hands-on expertise in waveguide design, photonic ICs, lasers/LEDs, modulators, detectors, or quantum photonics.
• Proficiency with photonics simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS Lumerical, RSoft).
• Programming skills in Python or MATLAB for scripting and automation.
• Excellent communication and ability to engage R&D stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Stay abreast of developments in silicon photonics, high-speed optical communication, quantum photonics, PICs, LiDAR, AR/VR optics, and emerging photonic technologies.

• Strong fundamentals in Maxwell’s equations, electromagnetic wave propagation, and optical materials.
• Hands‑on expertise in waveguide design, photonic ICs, lasers/LEDs, modulators, detectors, optical interconnects, or quantum photonics.
• Proficiency with ANSYS Lumerical, RSoft or equivalent photonic simulation tools
• Programming skills in Python or MATLAB for scripting, automation
• Excellent communication, analytical, and presentation skills with the ability to engage R&D stakeholders
• Willingness to travel up to 25–30%.
