Your role

Job Description: We have launched a new initiative of “Solutions Center of Excellence” in GECIA to support global customer centres of OFA, IAT and AGA within CTBA. As a part of this centre, we are looking for a competent Application Engineer who will be the contact of regional BDM’s to support low pressure municipal projects from AGA division for global customer centres. The application engineer stays up to date on the latest technologies in these division! Are you enthusiastic about taking a challenging opportunity? This position will report to Team Leader- Solutions Center of Excellence in GECIA and indirectly to the global business lead low pressure – water.

Responsibilities
  • Mission: Application Engineers are responsible for actively driving and managing the tendering specifications of wastewater treatment projects. Working in conjunction with the regional business development managers as the key technical advisor and product advocate. The Application Engineer must be able to dive into specifications, identify and provide reliable solutions for all technical issues to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process. The Application Engineer must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle. After the sales the application engineer is crucial in delivering all documentation during contracting phase.
  • You are the first point of contact for regional business development managers for wastewater treatment projects. Read, understand and interpret the technical specifications and translate it into a short summary.
  • Select the correct corresponding technology for the specific tender out of the Low Pressure product portfolio. Develop, prepare and write technical proposals for blower systems and solutions.
  • To complete thermodynamic and mechanical calculations using the company’s proprietary design software.
  • Perform process calculations according to customer-specific process requirements related to low pressure applications.
  • Be responsible for the compliance to customer technical specifications and identifying deviations.
  • Ensure the technical aspects of a proposal are complete and compliant with the customers’ requirements and present our solutions in the most competitive way.
  • Ensure the correctness of the scope of supply.
Knowledge and Experience / Qualifications
  • Engineering Degree with 5-8 years industry experience as Sales Engineer, Process Engineer, Design Engineer, Application Engineer, Project Engineer.
  • Solid understanding of basic mechanical systems and electrical/instrumentation control systems.
  • Understanding of various basic engineering documents like GA, P&ID, Single line diagram, Process flow diagram etc.
  • Knowledge of working in compressors / blowers / rotating equipment / turbo machinery.
  • Knowledge of the wastewater treatment process and the different steps where compressed air is needed.
  • Knowledge of engineering software (CAD, PLM, SAP, CPQ) would be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of Atlas Copco proprietary software “Airchitect”, PASEL, Dryer Selection Tool, Blower selection tool would be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of using AI tools in proposal activities is an added advantage.
  • Educational requirement: BE / BTech in Mechanical Engineering/ Production Engineering/ Chemical Engineering.
  • Personality requirements: Must be a team player - open-minded, positive attitude and flexible. The aptitude to generate creative ideas, commercial approach, strong customer focus. Must have excellent problem solving skills, ability to manage multi-tasks, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Good command of English (oral and written).

Hybrid - This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at our Pune Office.
