Job summary

Vanguard's Hyderabad office is seeking a Senior Full Stack AWS Engineer to design and deliver cloud-native Tax platform solutions using Java, Spring Boot, AWS, GraphQL Federation, and modern UI technologies.

You will drive platform modernization, microservices development, technical leadership, and collaborate within Agile/DevOps teams to build scalable, secure, and high-performing applications.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience with backend/system integration.
• Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) in CS or related field; Master’s or Diploma acceptable.
• Strong Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and REST APIs expertise.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable cloud-native applications using Java, Spring Boot, AWS, and Microservices.
• Build and maintain federated GraphQL APIs using Apollo Federation/Supergraph.
• Develop modern user interfaces using Angular, React, TypeScript, and Node.js.
• Architect and implement API-first solutions using REST APIs and GraphQL.
• Leverage AWS services such as Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, Aurora RDS, IAM, and CloudFormation.
• Collaborate with business and technology teams to translate requirements into secure and scalable solutions.
• Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, test automation, TDD/BDD, and best practices.
• Implement and support CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, Bitbucket, Maven, Artifactory, and Jira.
• Monitor application performance and reliability using Splunk, CloudWatch, Honeycomb, and OpenTelemetry.
• Ensure application security through Okta, API Security, Authentication, and Identity Management.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within Agile/DevOps environments.
• Support platform modernization initiatives using AWS, GraphQL, Microservices, and Event-Driven Architecture.
• Improve system reliability, observability, scalability, and performance through modern engineering practices and DevOps automation.

Role Summary

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum 5 years of experience in software development, system integration, database design, and back-end architecture.
• Bachelor??s degree (B.E./B.Tech) in relevant fields such as Computer Science, or a Master??s degree/Diploma in Computer Science.
• Strong experience in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and REST APIs
• Hands-on experience with GraphQL and Apollo Federation (Supergraph)
• Deep knowledge of AWS Cloud (Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, Aurora RDS, IAM, CloudFormation)
• Front-end expertise with Angular, React, TypeScript, and Node.js
• Experience with TDD/BDD testing frameworks such as Cypress, Jasmine, and Cucumber
• Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps tools including GitHub, Bitbucket, Maven, Artifactory, and Jira
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools like Splunk, CloudWatch, Honeycomb, and OpenTelemetry
• Understanding of security, authentication (Okta), API security, and identity management
• Proven experience working in Agile/DevOps environments and mentoring engineers
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
• Preferred: Experience with GenAI tools, SRE practices, event-driven architectures, and distributed systems
• Excellent communication skills
