Job summary

Schneider Electric in Mumbai is seeking an Industrial Automation engineer with strong PLC, DCS, and HMI/SCADA expertise to design, develop and commission control solutions for Oil & Gas, water, and infra projects.

You will prepare IO lists, cabinet drawings, FD specifications, and logic for automation systems, while collaborating with engineering, installation, and commissioning teams to deliver reliable automation for critical processes.

Qualifications

• A recognized B.Tech/B.E. in Electrical, Electronics or Computer Science.
• Experience with PLC, DCS, SCADA, HMI systems preferred.
• Knowledge of ERP, MES and IoT is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain PLC programs.
• Proficiency in working on DCS, HMI/SCADA systems.
• Prepare IO lists, cabinet design, wiring drawings, and functional design specifications.
• Develop logic and graphics for automation systems, and collaborate with teams for commissioning.
• Knowledge of protocols like Modbus, Profibus, MQTT, etc.

About the Company

Industrial Automation engineer with sound knowledge of PLC, ESD, and DCS systems. Exposure of working in Oil & Gas, Water & Wastewater, Infrastructure (Metro, Building) projects.

About the Role

Preparation of IO list, Cabinet design, Cabinet wiring drawing, Functional Design Specification, Logic development, Graphics development. Program HMI interfaces to monitor and control industrial processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams for engineering, installation and commissioning. Implement SCADA systems for data acquisition and processing.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain PLC programs preferably using Modicon M580, M340 controllers.
• Proficiency in working on Foxboro DCS, Triconex Safety System or equivalent.
• Proficiency in working on HMI (Vijeo Designer) & SCADA (Aveva Plant SCADA, Aveva System platform, GeoSCADA, EcoStruxure Process Expert) systems.
• Knowledge of protocols like Modbus, Profibus, FF, MQTT, etc.
• Develop technical competency within team by sharing knowledge & guiding junior team members.
• Knowledge in ERP, MES and IoT will be an added advantage.
• Hands on with database management tools like SQL server, Microsoft Access etc. is preferred.
