Job summary

Evernorth Health Services in Hyderabad, India, is seeking an experienced Application Development Advisor to join our Mainframe PBM Technology team. You will provide senior technical guidance across design, development, testing and delivery, supporting both onsite and offshore QA and development members.

The role requires 11+ years of mainframe experience (Cobol/DB2/CICS/JCL/VSAM), strong communication and leadership skills, and a strong background in agile delivery and enterprise-scale

Qualifications

• 11+ years of experience in developing mainframe batch and online applications (Cobol/DB2/CICS/JCL/VSAM).
• Master’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Information Technology, Business Information Systems, Technology Management, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Be hands-on in design and development of robust mainframe solutions with focus on scale, security, reliability and cost.
• Support other product delivery partners in build, test and release of solutions.
• Be part of a fast-moving team, using the latest tools and open-source technologies.
• Work on an agile development team with Scrum leadership.
• Understand Business and Application Architecture End-to-End.
• Craft maintainable and modular code to solve problems.
• Participate in and possibly lead daily stand-up meetings and backlog updates.
• Lead code reviews to ensure quality and deliverables.
• Provide impact analysis for new requirements or changes and lead low-level design.

We are looking for an experienced engineer to work within our Mainframe PBM Technology organization who has experience with Mainframe COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, Teradata. This role provides counsel and advice to top management on significant Engineering matters, often requiring coordination between several PBM teams. In this role you will support the full software lifecycle of design, development, testing, and support for technical delivery. This role requires working with both onsite (Scrum Master, Product, QA and Developers) and offshore QA team members in properly defining testable scenarios based on requirements/acceptance criteria.

Responsibilities

• Be hands-on in the design and development of robust solutions to hard problems, while considering scale, security, reliability, and cost
• Support other product delivery partners in the successful build, test, and release of solutions
• Be part of a fast-moving team, working with the latest tools and open-source technologies
• Work on a development team using agile methodologies.
• Understand the Business and the Application Architecture End to End
• Solve problems by crafting software solutions using maintainable and modular code.
• Participate & potentially lead daily team standup meetings where you'll give and receive updates on the current backlog and challenges.
• Participate in code reviews. Ensure Code Quality and Deliverables
• Provide Impact analysis for new requirements or changes. Responsible for low level design with the team
• May lead or manage sizable projects
• Provides thought leadership and technical expertise across the PBM technology organization
• This role will act in a senior manner, potentially leading scrum teams, being held accountable for projects and mentoring junior team members.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• Requires strong knowledge of the following technology skill sets – Mainframe COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, Teradata
• Experience designing and developing process-based solutions or BPM (business process management)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
• Strong influencing/negotiation skills.
• Strong interpersonal/relationship skills.
• Strong time and project management skills.
• Familiarity with agile methodology including SCRUM team leadership.
• Familiarity with modern delivery practices such as continuous integration, behavior/test driven development, and specification by example.

Required Experience & Education:

• 11+ years of experience in developing mainframe batch and online applications, utilizing Cobol/DB2/CICS/JCL/VSAM
• Master’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Information Technology, Business Information Systems, Technology Management, or related field of study.

Desired Experience:

• Healthcare experience including Disease Management
• Coachingof team members

Location & Hours of Work

< >Full-time position, working 40 hours per week. Expected overlap with US hours as appropriate.

Primarily based in the Innovation Hub in Hyderabad, India in a hybrid working model (3 days WFO and 2 days WAH)
