Job summary

Emerson in India (Chennai) is seeking an Applications Administrator to manage in-house and third-party applications used by the Global PMO, ensuring compliance with IT policies and governance. You will maintain system availability, access controls, and configuration baselines while coordinating with IT and vendors.

The role covers onboarding, testing, incident handling, reporting, archiving, and process improvement. Strong communication and SME-level application knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science (BSc) & in Computer Application (BCA) or similar.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant knowledge & experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the configuration of existing in-house and third-party applications.
  • Evaluate, test, and configure new applications as required.
  • Maintain configuration documentation and/or software.
  • Track change and enhancement requests and perform impact analysis on current configuration, automations, reports, training, documentation, processes, etc.
  • Plan and coordinate testing of changes and upgrades.
  • Support development of user training and communications.
  • Maintain user lists and perform user administration functions on the supported applications.
  • Monitor, track, triage and manage end user support requests.
  • Provide end user support by diagnosing and resolving issues and answering usage-related questions.
  • Escalate problems to the software vendor as needed and track through resolution.
  • Periodically monitor the applications for data integrity. Notify end users to make needed updates.
  • Monitor and support archiving activities.
  • Support development and implementation of processes for application monitoring and maintenance.
  • Identify process automation opportunities and support implementation.
  • Support data integration and extraction efforts.
  • Support custom query and report creation.
  • Develop, maintain, and report on metrics for the supported applications.
  • Develop work plans and track/report status of assigned projects and tasks.
  • Provide oral and written reports to managers and stakeholders.

Job Summary

The Applications Administrator is responsible for the controlled administration and support of in-house and third-party applications used by the Global Project Management Office (PMO), ensuring compliance with IT policies, security standards, and governance requirements. The role maintains system availability, enforces appropriate access controls, and manages configuration baselines. Key responsibilities include application onboarding and validation, approved change and release management with documented testing evidence, and incident/service request handling in line with agreed service levels. The position maintains audit-ready records, monitors data integrity and master data quality, and supports compliant reporting, extraction, retention, and archiving activities in collaboration with PMO stakeholders, IT, and vendors.

Specific Responsibilities
