Job Description: Apigee Solution & Platform Architect

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Apigee Solution & Platform Architect with strong expertise in API Gateway (Apigee Hybrid/Edge/X), Microservices, Kubernetes/Anthos, Linux, Networking, and Infrastructure Architecture. This role demands end-to-end ownership of API design, platform engineering, production support, infrastructure resilience, and solution architecture, ensuring robust delivery aligned with banking-grade standards.

The ideal candidate will combine deep technical leadership with domain expertise in Banking & Payments (Trade Finance, Inbound/Outbound Merchant Payments, RIB, CIB, NPCI payment models/flows, etc.), and a working knowledge of Generative AI to drive automation, innovation, and predictive problem management.

Key Responsibilities

Apigee & Microservice Solution Architecture

• Lead API proxy and microservice design, development, and governance, ensuring scalability, security, and compliance.
• Review and approve all development designs, enforcing best practices and architectural maturity.
• Conduct architecture gap assessments and recommend corrective solutions.
• Drive quarterly innovation by introducing emerging technologies, including GenAI accelerators for monitoring, reporting, and automation.

Platform & Infrastructure Engineering

• Architect and manage Apigee Hybrid deployments on Anthos/GKE/NodePort clusters.
• Build automation pipelines for CI/CD, patching, and upgrades.
• Ensure platform resilience, failover readiness, and DR strategy.
• Administer and optimize Kubernetes (pods, nodes, ingress/egress, storage policies).
• Provide hands‑on expertise in Linux system administration and performance tuning.

Networking & Infra

• Design and maintain GSLB, Load Balancer, and Citrix Netscaler setups for high availability.
• Validate DNS, TLS certs, firewall, and connectivity policies.
• Optimize network throughput, latency management, and failover processes.

Production Support & RCA

• Provide end‑to‑end ownership of production issues for Apigee runtime, APIs, and platform.
• Establish a strong RCA culture raise problem tickets, document learnings, and implement preventive fixes.
• Proactively identify potential issues before they occur, leveraging monitoring, AI/ML‑driven analytics, and automation.
• Enhance patch responsiveness with automation‑driven rollout processes.

Banking & Payments Domain

• Well‑versed in banking and payments systems, including:
• Trade Finance flows and integration models.
• Inbound/Outbound Merchant Payments (cards, UPI, wallets, etc.).
• RIB (Retail Internet Banking) and CIB (Corporate Internet Banking) flows.
• NPCI payment models and settlement processes.
• Translate business payment flows into technical API and microservice designs.
• Ensure solutions meet regulatory and compliance requirements (RBI, NPCI, ISO 20022 standards, etc.).

GenAI & Emerging Tech

• Apply Generative AI capabilities in:
• Automated knowledge extraction from logs and incidents.
• Predictive analysis for anomaly detection and issue prevention.
• AI‑assisted documentation (RCA, compliance, design).
• Conversational interfaces/chatbots for internal DevOps and support teams.
• Evaluate and propose GenAI‑driven solutions that improve delivery and support models.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years IT experience, with 5+ years in Apigee (Hybrid/Edge/X) and strong microservices expertise.
• Deep knowledge of banking & payments domain: Trade, Merchant, RIB, CIB, NPCI models & flows.
• Strong in API proxy design, shared flows, governance, debugging, and optimization.
• Expertise in Kubernetes (GKE, Anthos), Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu), and core networking fundamentals.
• Hands‑on with GSLB, Load Balancing, Citrix Netscaler/F5, DNS, TLS, firewalls.
• Proven in infra automation (CI/CD, Git, Jenkins, Helm, Terraform, or equivalent).
• Exposure to Generative AI/ML tools for automation, monitoring, or documentation.
• Familiarity with banking/financial production environments is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.

Preferred Certifications

• Apigee/Google Cloud: Professional Cloud Architect / Apigee API Engineer Certification.
• Kubernetes: Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA/CKAD).
• AI/ML/GenAI: Google Cloud Generative AI Professional Certificate, AWS AI/ML Specialty, or Microsoft AI Engineer Associate (preferred).
• ITIL v4 or equivalent (for production & support alignment).
