Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher degree in Engineering/Computer Science or related field.
• 3-5 years of hands-on API testing experience.
• Proven ability to design and execute API tests across REST/SOAP.
• Experience with automation of API tests using frameworks.
• Knowledge of databases and SQL for data validation.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business and technical requirements for APIs.
• Design and execute manual and automated API test cases.
• Validate API requests, responses, status codes, headers, and payloads.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end API testing.
• Create and maintain test plans, test cases, and test reports.
• Use API testing tools such as Postman, Swagger, SoapUI, or Insomnia.
• Automate API test suites using frameworks like Rest Assured, Karate, or Postman/Newman.
• Validate data integrity by testing backend databases (SQL queries).
• Identify, log, track, and retest defects using tools like JIRA or Azure DevOps.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and QA teams throughout the SDLC/STLC.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and provide testing updates.
