The APAC Power BI & SQL Developer is a key role within the APAC Enterprise Technology team. We seek a Senior Power BI Developer with extensive data visualization experience, strong skills in DAX, SQL, and data modeling. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge BI tools, including cloud databases, self-service analytics, and advanced visualization tools, supporting the company's digital transformation goals.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with the APAC Data Architect & Engineer to evaluate, design, and develop BI semantic models and dashboards based on multi-market business requirements.
Transform large, complex datasets into dashboards and reports to aid business decision-making.
Work closely with stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver solutions, defining requirements and applying best practices in data modeling and dashboard design.
Create technical documentation, including metric definitions, techniques, parameters, business rules, and data transformation approaches.
Establish row-level security and understand Power BI's security models.
Monitor Power BI infrastructure to ensure optimal performance.
Work independently within guidelines, managing projects using formal project management and agile methodologies.
Provide coaching, mentoring, and technical guidance to BI team members.
Collaborate with BI & Analytics teams to develop and establish the BI roadmap and vision.
Stay updated on Power BI features, updates, and best practices.
Provide ad-hoc SQL development and reporting support across the APAC region, including SSRS, SSIS, stored procedures, and SQL administration.

Qualifications

Experience:

7-10 years in Power BI Development, with a strong portfolio of models and dashboards.
5+ years using Power BI Desktop, DAX, Tabular Editor.
3+ years managing Power BI Premium capacity.
3+ years SQL development experience.
3-5 years in Data warehousing and Business Intelligence.
Deep understanding of data modeling, administration, and visualization.
Knowledge of Data warehousing, Azure Cloud databases, and ETL frameworks.

Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric technologies like One Lake, Lakehouse, and Data Factory.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Delivery-focused with a positive attitude in challenging environments.
Experience with finance data and data integration is highly desirable.

Other Key Competencies:

Strong communication skills to translate business needs into technical solutions.
Solid database design skills, understanding both normalized and dimensional models.
Experience with data warehousing strategies, e.g., Kimball methodology.
Experience with cloud-based data integration tools like Azure Data Factory.
Knowledge of Azure DevOps or JIRA is a plus.
Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
